Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Good morning we had rain fall enough we do not need to water the garden.

Geez that’s great! We just have the gray!

No rain here. Misty a bit last evening

Luckily no rain this morning. Hoping it warms up enough to eat dinner on the deck. Having friends over and being able to sit out there.
No rain here either, just gray skies.

New project today. I tried freezing herbs last year but it was a real pain using them from the quart freezer bags. I'm drying them this time, starting with flat leaf parsley.

I put a few elevated racks in the bottom of a storage container and put the rinsed and drained herbs on the racks. A fan blows air onto the herbs. I have no idea how long it will take, maybe a couple days.

To finish dehydrating them I'll put them in jars with silica gel to remove the rest of the moisture.

I have small dehydrators I use for herbs. I vacuum seal then in mason jars. Silica is always good

Or you could just hang them upside down on string. That's what I did when I had a lot of herbs.
