Smokerbill
Crossing the Road
This afternoon I stirred around the rotted woodchips that the chicks are living on, made some big hills and valleys (to them, anyway) to explore.
One of them found a little earthworm a couple inches long.
Chickens are stupid from the hatch.
First thing it did was start running around, starting the keep-away game, and signaling to the others she had something to hide. Luckily, she kept it until she felt safe to swallow the thing.
Why don't they just play it cool. Pick up the worm then calmly swallow it. None of the others would have a clue that they missed out.
Got my tomato starts moved into seed cells, along with a dozen more bok choi plants. And finished mowing the yard.
