Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I just got a pullet egg today that looks fertile hen is about 6 months old.- and the only rooster I have is a 3 month old NN. All other hens are laying eggs.View attachment 4196569

I had a bantam cochin who had to have been fertilizing eggs at before 7 weeks because I'd hatched silkie eggs and got cross breed chicks. He was the only non-silkie

I got another pullet egg today. After I found the pullet eggs yesterday I cleaned all the stuff out of the old nest box that I put in it to keep the little chickens from sleeping in it.

I put straw in it yesterday evening, and by this morning the chickens had scratched every bit out. But still, one of the pullets laid an egg in it today. Maybe the fake egg helped it know it was where eggs belonged. LOL

I might try putting pine shavings in it today, maybe not. Old woodchips might be less prone to being scratched out.
