I'm glad you took those hormonal teenage cockerels out of the hen house.

The cockerels are crowing more than normal, maybe from stress, but I think they're adjusting to the new setup. During the day they're locked out of the coop and stay in the day run.

There's a foot wide section of hardware cloth the cockerels can look through into the secure run and see the pullets during the day so it's not total isolation.

No eggs were laid yesterday, but there were two today. Maybe the six pullets will start laying more now.

I finally got the skirting in place along the north side of the new run. There are a few odds and ends left to complete the run, but right now it's totally secure... unless something decides to rip through the hardware cloth.

Easy day here had cold chicken wings for lunch then finished with Oreo cookies with a glass of milk.
Cleaned the Tables and boards in the coop most all the cap I could find. Started to wash the dogs towels added the few things I had to go with.
Swept the laundry room before I sat back down.

Snow is getting tired of the pups.
She is laying on her bed under Richards desk.
He was her person, she still expects him.

Drove to Onalaska and got two bags of Xcel all purpose for the chickens. Finished the skirting on the west side of the new run and set up a feeder for the cockerels in their run.

Ya let the three boys out then the chickens then brought the boys in.
Then Snow.
She is trying to ween the pups. Keep the water out there full.
Couple will have poodle hair maybe not curly but more of it.

I’ve been wondering how those pups will turn out ! Like giant standard poodles that will need clipping? Maremma-doodles ? Moodles? I hope they find great homes!
