Well first I would respectfully disagree with you. IMHO When it comes to kids in sports there are NO LOSERS just those who's skills are not as fine tuned for whatever reason. They ALL need to be encouraged and praised no matter how good or bad they are. Also I am a bit confused by your comment "I praise my DD and most of the others for getting up there and doing their best but the goal is to have fun, learn, and work as hard as you can to win or get to 1st place. " See first you say have fun, learn and work as hard as you can. But then comes the TO WIN !! IMHO IT should be less about the win. See Can't everybody be in the parade. Somebody has to be there to watch it go by. Otherwise it's just s traffic jam !!!OMGosh, so I was 300 something posts behind on the other Washington thread, then skipped to the end and found that I was no longer on the right thread anyways! LOL. I found my way here and now am 400 something posts behind!!!! My brain is not recouped enough to read all that, so I really hope I did not miss anything important. Hoping that no one lost any birds, friends or family members and that all is well with everyone.
The weekend before last started a good week of sickness in our house. We hardly ever get sick, and when ever any of us do (like the flu) it only is a 12-24 hour thing. Our first two kids held to that and then the next two that got sick one held our for 3 days and the other for four. Kid number 5 did not get sick but I did half way through last week. DH did not get it thank goodness and I am very glad that both of our DD's are fine now as they leave for Disney Land with my BIL and his wife this coming weekend.
Also, one of our DD's had her first MMA tournament this past Saturday. She got 2nd place out of three, the girl that got 1st place was at least 4in taller than our DD and had a huge reach advantage on her. But even with that she only lost by 1 point. I told her that just because she got a medal and a certificate (all the kids got one of these cheesy things) that it does not mean that she does not still need to work on her technique. I do not like that every one gets a trophy or medal these days when it comes to kids sports. I feel that it makes the kids think that they do not need to work any harder to get first place or to win the game because "every one is a winner". I don't mean this in a harsh way, I think my DD and most of the kids there did great and tried their hardest, but there are winners and losers for a reason and I praise my DD and most of the others for getting up there and doing their best but the goal is to have fun, learn, and work as hard as you can to win or get to 1st place. But this is all just my opinion!
Lastly, I have 31 eggs in the incubator (and I will have to look up what day they are on) about 2 week along and they are all progressing. Holy cow I did not expect them all to be good and to survive but that works for me.
