After reading about broodies being sneaky about hiding eggs under their wings I was quite skeptical. Well, shoot, I went and gathered up the eggs and yep, she had 3 hid under her wings and even held them while I moved her off her nest. LOL. 2 were the plastic eggs and 1 for real.
Got 5 eggs today, production is off but still ok as far as I'm concerned. I really enjoy the eggs but they are secondary to my enjoyment of having chickens.

Hello everyone - it's been a while since I've been here, well, on the other thread really.

Had some tests, blood work, MRI's, heart tests and all that kinda stuff. Then last week, rotator cuff surgery. I'm pretty much off the pain meds now (one at bedtime only). Not bad for only a week ago, but then I can't stand being zoned out from them. I can even type with the "recovering" arm a bit.

I have missed chatting here. My last THREE sets of eggs in the 'bator - not one hatched! Gotta get it seen too I think. I lost some very valuable eggs.

Well, time to go rustle up some dinner. I think it's duck legs tonight.

ETA we are going to take a little road trip just for a fun visit with CGG and Bella. Since we had already rearranged the day.

I was wondering about that...cuz I have "talked" to her this A.M. about tomatoes and she never mentioned her dog missing or needing help to search....SO GLAD Bella is home !

Having said that, there are of course the other side of the coin, like our friend CR who is out there looking for someones furry family member!! Those are the people I want to count as MY friends, and you can bet if I lived up there, I'd be looking too!
