Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I'm not very experienced or knowledgable about chickens, I've just had them since July...but I've had two chickens at two different times sneeze frequently for 10 days or so..they seemed absolutely fine otherwise, and it just passed on its own. It seemed like a "dust up my nose" kind of sneeze, but it was fairly frequent. Since they seemed 100% OK otherwise, i did nothing..and they are fine. I wouldn't rush to medicate if they seem normal otherwise.

There are occasions Drama sneezes, too. I've never worried about it. She's never given me a real reason to.

My little goobers. Jeanine was a princess, John was Captain America, William was nothing. He went to Puggles (the littlest age for AWANA) for a while then we pulled him out to participate in the carnival with the rest of us. He didn't want to wear the cape I pulled out for him to be a Super Puggle, so he was nothing.

So let's see some pics of trick or treaters !!!!

Here are my twins. My oldest (2 years older) looked exactly the same as my youngest - just a little taller and with blue eyes. The boys had to have exactly the same costume. Boring! But, it's a kid thing. My youngest is not sporting his swords and dagger backpack in the picture below. The boys picked the Ninja costumes because they wanted the swords to play with. Play-time will be interesting the next few days.

I remember as a child looking at books from my dads childhood. They were fat little books and when you flipped the pages it made the pics look like they were moving!

I think it's the same concept. He showed me how you shake the top page and it looks (kind of) like the bird is flying up his nose. What will my kid think of next....

Oh... gotta share the boy's pumpkin that he carved all by himself. Not too shabby for a 10-year-old. He did a better job on his than his momma did on hers! And he was finished before me, too!

Now that he's earned his Cub Scout whittling chip, he can't wait for opportunities to practice his carving skills.

CR... does this resemble a certain origami figure you may be in possession of?

10 years old? I'm impressed!

Was a bit gory for little ones to witness.

My step-dad used to hang all his deer/elk/bear/moose skulls across the carport. Many kids would walk up and start crying. We kept telling him to stop doing that, but he thought it was funny.

Now that I look back on those days - I am impressed at how skilled he was of a hunter. He got three bear with bow and arrow. He built his own longbows. Hunting was his life's passion. He ticked one bear off once, and he didn't have a back-up gun on him - the bear almost got him. He started carrying a .44 Magnum after that for back-up.

The bad thing about hunting bear with bow and arrow... it would take him days to find the carcass and by the time he found it, the meat would be spoiled. I think I spent more days being angry at him over killing without getting any food out of it, than I did respecting him for his abilities. I understand and appreciate hunting for food. I don't appreciate hunting in such a way that the food goes to waste.

I'm glad the largest game my husband hunts is wild turkey. It would be nice to have the meat, but there's a lot that goes into packing out big game.

Our play house..Wouldn't this be a cute coop? If only the chickens would go down the slide.

Yours is so cute!

Ours is an older model - we bought it 6 years ago, but ours is similar to this: http://www.rainbowplay.com/index.php/swingsets/package/75a-carnival-clubhouse-package-ii-popular/

We traded in the rock-wall for two baby buckets since our space wasn't large enough for the proper rock wall clearance. Is yours a Rainbow? They've been pretty cool - when the twins outgrew the baby buckets, they let us trade one baby bucket in for a sling swing for no charge. So, now we have 1 baby bucket if a baby visits, 3 sling swings, plus a trapeze bar to switch out as needed. I need to have Rainbow come out and do some work on ours - it's getting old and creaky. They're supposed to do the repairs free of charge as long as the original purchaser owns it - we'll see if they stand by that promise.
