Is there anyone in the Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah area that has eggs for sale? I only have 1 hen out of 5 laying, and at best I get 5 eggs a week. Not enough for our family.

Cochins are the almost next to the worst layers there is !!!
If ya want eggs, get some layers that are better layers, such as Marans, Leghorns, Rocks....................................Cochins...NO.

Now I see you do have other breeds, so my Q is:
You have 16 Hrs of light in the coop ???
Birds will stop lay if they do not have AT LEAST !^ HRS OF LIGHT PER DAY.
This is not a tiny nite light, but a bright light that will illuminate the entire inside of the coop.
I use 100 watt bulbs, on a timer, on at 6 AM, off at 6 PM....................
Some do not want to "force" lay, and choose not to "force" via light.

SSHs, and Easter Eggers! (although mine are temproraily indisposed).

Sorry I missed you today, I got slowed down by the weather (it apparently stopped raining about the time we got to Tumwater, because everything was pretty dry at home) and by another unexpected BG drop.

Hopefully you got the Wall Flower in a 1/2 gal pot marked "JULLIA ELLEN " ?????????????????

I'm glad you liked the soup, Chickielady. It really is good in the cold weather.

I made the mistake of laying down on the bed to talk to Mom. I've stiffened up and can barely move again.

The new birds figured out where their sleeping quarters were without any issues. We'll see how they are tomorrow.

Your potato soup was REALLY yummy, thank you so much for bringing it! Would you mind terribly telling me, again, how to make it? My memory is only about an inch long any more. It was really nice meeting you Kim!

Peanut butter fudge is done! It turned out really good! I found one camp chair, DH will look for the other in the AM. I'm glad he's coming with me. I'm trying to convince him to sit in on the Serama workshop with me. He's retiring soon and I suggested he should start showing our Seramas when we get to breeding ours in the next year. I love that he's been showing more interest in all of our chickens lately.

WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!
Last year I got a coffee cup & put 4-6 pieces in it, & brought it home and had 1 piece a week for quite a while, as my treat !!!!!!!!!!!
Better I did not get any, beings I have not been able to exercise as I usually do, and the fat will get me....only having 1 fuctioning leg sucks.

I missed you and a lot of other peeps today! DH and I had to leave early and I never found a place I could leave the fudge since I needed to take my container home with me. I think CR and Diane were the only ones who got a piece.

I missed not having a more centralized place to meet. I was just catching up with folks as I saw them, and was spending a lot of time by the Seramas and Serama demo table because if I hatch any of our own babies this spring I might want to start showing next year.

So I'm looking forward to Monroe now and CL, I will just bring you your own container of pb fudge for the next show!
