Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yeah I dont normally use lights or heat lamps at all... Last year when we got all that snow mine kept laying just fine... The only time I have ever used lights is when it got into the low teens at night and was only in the low 20's during the day and it was like that for a week. And I agree to have all 15 stop at once is really strange... Hopefully they figure it out soon cuz my 3 year old will no longer eat store bought eggs and he loves his egg bagels in the am.... lol

Is this their second winter?
Commonly 1st year pullets/hens will lay through the winter, but will not through the subsequent winters.

I battled the darn fire this evening. I accidentally let it go out to the point I couldn't just throw another log on. No kindling. Just paper available. I battled to start that stupid log for about an hour and finally have a fire! I need DH to chop me some kindling about once a week just to have on hand in case of accidental brain fart. I'm just glad it started again rather than having to turn on the heater. I certainly have no strength to chop kindling, no matter if I know I *could* do it. Bummer.
Jess, I have some nice fatwood here if you would like some for fire starting/encouraging.

Everyone please meet the newest RDC Gang. It's members are 9 RIR's 3 Black Star Roo's 3 Black Star pullets. We hatched 15 out of 18 eggs. I got 5 eggs from 7 RIR pullets today.
Nice! Looks like a very successful hatch.

Jessica, here is the blue and gold bell I bought from CR at the Salem show. I need to get a hanger from him since the one we had won't work. I love the tone of this one, not as high pitched as the old cow bell at the front door right now.
I LOVE that! What a nice blue!!I
Quote: Thanks for the offer! I'll talk to DH and see if he wants to pick some up for sure!

This is what I'm wondering too...a good reason to have pullets every year! Chicken math strikes again

Anyone Need an Older Computer?
We are getting rid of our old computer. It's about 8 years old but runs fine. I'm reformatting it today with Windows XP. When I'm done it will go to Goodwill unless someone wants it.
It's a Dell Dimension 2350. It has 1GB of memory, 30GB hard drive, one CD drive that reads and writes CDs, a floppy drive, USB 2.0 ports. No monitor.
I have the CDs that came with it, too. It will be good for basic stuff like e-mail, internet, homework. Not good for movies or streaming video because it's slower than the PCs for sale now.

If you want it, or know anyone who could use it, please let me know asap.
Would it be good to store pics and clip art in? Like designs and patterns for my metal work.

OK guys I need some help.... Suddenly all 15 of my chickens have stopped laying! I was getting at least a 8 - 12 a day but for the past few days not one egg! I cant figure out why.... We haven't changed their food, nothing has changed. Only thing I can think of is the weather change? But all 15??? None of them look sick in any way they are all still out roaming the yard n eating and drinking like normal. I have searched the yard and they arnt laying anywhere... PLEASE HELP!
Are they molting?? Do ya have an egg thief ??

Thanks Shyla . YES that bell had a very nice tone.Had you said something I would have given some trade in on the old cow bell. It doesn't show in the pic but this bell has a mist of silver and gold.
Shyla is it one of my hangers that won't work? If so I will make it right .
