Hey everyone, I just wanted to remind you about the new rules in WA this year. If you are going to the poultry auctions and want birds to show in the future, make sure you get NPIP paperwork from the seller.

If you get your paperwork, then you will not have to have your birds tested at the show/fair for pullorum/typhoid.

Actually my documents from the Department of Agriculture do not state whether or not the testing will be done for free at the fairs. I would imagine there will be fees incurred as they will be giving out certificates of testing and leg bands. But do you want someone handling and drawing blood from your bird at a show?

It is ok to show your birds if you are NPIP certified, it is not stated anywhere that they don't want you to exhibit your birds.

I am not going to hatch out very many this year and what I do hatch will not be sold until fallish time.
But a friend of mine I am sure will hatch ducklings if she knows shes got someone to take them. She lives south of me, so if your interested I could get them hatching and meet her and bring them back up with me for you.
She has a bunch of calls all roaming around together, grey, snowy, white, black and blue bibbed, blue fawn and some others too. Not sure what she will have available though....
Its becoming one of those years.

I am brand new here, and so glad I found this site! I live in Longview with my daughter, 4 cats, a Polish Crested rooster, a Rhode Island Red hen, and two new additions, a Barred Rock and an Ameraucana chick. We always had chickens when I was growing up; now many years later I get to enjoy them all over again!
