Herbandteas. Yes, that is what I normally buy but was hoping to get it some place in a bigger size so I'd be paying less.

Sorry about your husbands situation.
It is really a mess out there in the industry.
Hard to compete with groups of people living two or three families to one rental or mortgage payment as well as sharing the utility bills.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happens to the rest of us when General Contractors go after the lowest price.

Quality of work not to many care about any more either as it is all about the $$$ for most.

Thirty years in the trade and it has come to this.

I'm just trusting in God to supply my needs as I need to survive in this trade for quite a few more years.
God is good!

Selena. No not Union. Nice benefits they have!
All these years living with the Grace of God Insurance company!

AnnesChicks. Yes, bought my two bags there few days ago.

Finnleyjo. Thanks. I'll check next time I'm there how much their bags have in them. Del's and Monroe feeds have .06 cubic difference.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Thanks for replies.
What a beautiful day out there. Enjoy it!

As far as chicken sitters go, you might ask around to see if there is a 4-H Poultry program in your area. I'm sure if there are teen members involved, they would love to help you out if you need one!

My kids are in a poultry group and we've become great friends with some of the other family's. One family lives only about 1/2 mile from us and we swap sitting with each other when needed. But finding other members here to swap with is also a great idead!!!

We usually buy our shavings and stall pellets when they're on sale 12-15 at a time. I hate paying full price for anything. I know Del's used to sell their torn bags of shavings at a discount but I don't shop there anymore so I don't know if they still do that. Buy in bulk and wholesale if you can.

If I had a big enough storage I'd buy my layer pellets by the ton from Xcel. We go through 150-200lbs of layer pellets a week. Does anyone happen to know how much their wholesale price is per ton. I guess I should call and see. It's probably worth building a storage for. I can buy them wholesale since I have a license.

I just made a post under "managing your flock" about leaving for the weekend or so. I would be willing to be a chicken sitter. We have a dog who probably wouldn't want people coming into our backyard that he doesn't know, so we aren't really looking for a chicken sitter as of now. Too bad you are 30 min away from us!

As luck would have it Del's put their shavings on sale today at $5.99 a 3.8 cubic bag a savings of $1.99. I'm going to have to go stock up and save some money.

Not sure how good a deal this is since I've never priced it but their 40 LB. Stall Dry they have for $9.99 savings of $3.99.

Is that a good price? Was thinking of buying some.

TIA.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'll head to Del's tomorrow morning to pick some up. These are good prices. I normally pay $7-9 for shavings.

Will... not... buy... chicks...

OK totally NOT about chickens....but I need your help out there in WA!

When I was a kid, my family spent a week at this cute little fishing village. I could swear to you the name was pronounced "C-Q" but I dont know the spelling and I cant find it on a map! Anyone know of such a place?
