A friend just told me that her friend had to get rid of some chickens in Sno Co not because of the county rules but because she lived in a neighborhood that had covenants on the properties and they had limits on poultry. If you live in a neighborhood you might want to check to see if yours has such covenants.

Hoping you don't!

Covenant as in a home owners association?

That is a shame! My hens are so .....mellow and not smelly, not loud, nothing. I can't imagine them being more than a nuisance than dogs on the run or cats that pee all over the lawn furniture. (I am a dog and cat lover, btw). Just too bad. I can see a hoa stating something like that, though, they regulate so many aspects of home ownership.

I'm so egg-cited! Our first two eggs. Our girls were egg-actly four months old last week. And by the way they tasted egg-cellent! So if you can bear to see a couple egg pictures here they are!

You may be able to tell that one was soft shelled, but thanks to BYC I didn't freak and knew that was normal.

Yes, silly me....I guess I was really excited! I went back and fixed my typo, they are four months old. Wouldn't four weeks to eggs be wild...if it was that easy everybody would be raising chickens! And I would make a fortune selling my turbo chickens to people who were in a hurry.
