Who knows downtown Seattle really well.

I am from Chicago and the day after Thanksgiving is when all the christmas lights and the big city tree are lit up.

They also have animatronic christmas displays in all the windows downtown. Does Seattle have anything similar?

I saw the same thing happen with some of ours who just went through moult and wondered too.

I wonder since we don't have vaseline but do have plenty of BAG BALM ( the best and most important thing to have no the farm and in the house) do ya think it would do the same as vaseline for frostbite.

WELCOME BACK to those who I have not seen in a while like Rainplace, Kim and Ron and anybody else I overlooked. Been missing ya all

Here's wishing everybody a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. And if you must travel be careful and have a safe trip.

I have a tidbit of info for y'all that I got from an old man in Idaho years ago when I lived there...Actuallly he lived in Newport, anyway, he got a paper towel and a wad of vaseline (or bad balm) and rubbed it around the rubber seals on his car doors, and his front door in his home.
This is the only way you can open your door with freezing rain or severe temps...even a breath of moisture can freeze your door shut and you cannot get in (or out) of your car...also pad locks and shoot WD-40 in them.
OK, I have to go read CR's post about coop heat...and eveyone have a fantastic holiday!

You need DIY or Rainwolf maybe, I know San Francisco has those displays.
Seattle and Tacoma have a big tree and all the stuff...one thing that I always did was took my kids to ZooLights...the Tacoma zoo totally lit in lights and you walk through it...awesome.
Call Tacoma Zoo..and bug Rainwolf and DIY about the Seattle tree and shopping thing, and have a great holiday!

The Zoo Lights are at the Pt. Defiance Zoo. It is easy to find. I-6 to Hwy 16, take the 4th exit toward Ruston the zoo is just before the ferry dock to Vashon Island.

I feel so embarassed for those chickens!

What was that guy thinking?

I had a dog lick all the feather off a turkey once. I used hot water and heat lamps to try and keep it alive.

They better get some sun screen for those chickens.

Hey. I'm not sure where your farm is at. But I'm right out here on Indianola Rd. If its close by, I could go out and check on everybody if you need. Temps are supposed to get close to 32* tomorrow, so hopefully we will thaw out some. The main roads are ok, but I have no idea how the south side of the bridge is... Havn't ventured over to the Island yet. There was a fatal accident between Totten and in town Suquamish, two days ago. And there is about 12 cars in various ditches between me place and Poulsbo. Had quite the time getting out of the driveway this morning, but once on the road all was ok, safe to drive so long as your slow, and steady.

Wow, thanks, it's good to know people still look after each other! There's three people up there now and two more came over to help with the cattle. I'm gonna try again today. Have you been out on the 305? I'm assuming the huge ice sheet that spanned from the casino past Coyote Coffee to the top of the hill towards Poulsbo is gone? That's where I wiped out. I'm noticing it's warmer right now then it was when I went to sleep last night, though I hear there's a bit more snow before the rains.

those are freaky.

You watch, Illia will love them, and don't you think they need little clothes ?
Trousers, a sweater ?
You could dress them every morning...

Yes, they need some clothes, which there are people who like to dress up their little dogs like dolls/babies....Ya' know there is some chicken lover who is going to want to do this too.
