I saw the same thing happen with some of ours who just went through moult and wondered too.
I wonder since we don't have vaseline but do have plenty of BAG BALM ( the best and most important thing to have no the farm and in the house) do ya think it would do the same as vaseline for frostbite.
WELCOME BACK to those who I have not seen in a while like Rainplace, Kim and Ron and anybody else I overlooked. Been missing ya all
Here's wishing everybody a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. And if you must travel be careful and have a safe trip.
I have a tidbit of info for y'all that I got from an old man in Idaho years ago when I lived there...Actuallly he lived in Newport, anyway, he got a paper towel and a wad of vaseline (or bad balm) and rubbed it around the rubber seals on his car doors, and his front door in his home.
This is the only way you can open your door with freezing rain or severe temps...even a breath of moisture can freeze your door shut and you cannot get in (or out) of your car...also pad locks and shoot WD-40 in them.
OK, I have to go read CR's post about coop heat...and eveyone have a fantastic holiday!
