Iron - You set me to laughing. I could almost hear your contented E ORish clucking from here. My DH is from Illinois and agrees totally with you. He's all up on the chicken house roof thats slowly coming together and looking content in the blistering heat. I weeded my squash and decided that was enough for the day. *wiggles her webbed feet* If you hear whining coming from the southwest once in a while on the breeze, that is probably me.
That is so cool you wield. I was thinking of taking a class at the community college and learning it, but unfortunately they just teach wielding in the afternoons/evenings when I work. Neighbor Larry who's retired wields too, but right now hes camped down at Seaquest Park camp hosting for the rest of the season... lol I miss him and his tool knowledge being right next door when I get stuck! Now I have to call and go get him for advice... which involves feeding him and listening to stories (which are great!). But I'm going to bribe him with my superior baking skills for lessons when he decides to stop playing park ranger for the year. He said he'd teach me, but it'd cost me a lot of pies!
Happy July 4th everyone! I hope you all have a peaceful relaxing day and take a few moments to reflect about what today actually means. I spent the day getting hay for the horses and now me and the chickies are outside (supervising the hubby - in the shade) work on the new chicken house! I can't wait to get at it with paint... that old wooden plywood looks terrible even though everyone assures me since the barn was 20+ years old when it fell is superior to the bright shiny stuff you buy today... and all it needs is a good coat of paint.
