I'm sorry you're having a bad day. The holidays brings out the worst in some people I'm afraid. I hope you sleep well and feel better in the morning.

Well they have even gone so far as to express concerns about that and I told them that if they were so worried about why didn't they ever stop in to see her or call her. Bottom line they have no clue what we go through every day and further more they don't want to know or have to deal with it.

OK enough of this I think it is time for a group

Rainwolf: Thai Gamefowl, to answer your question. They're very similarly related to my Shamos, which btw my pullet laid her first egg today! A pretty pink color.

Thai Gamefowl look like this: (these are my neighbor's birds. He didn't even know what they were, and honestly I find it just plain luck. . . The breed is VERY rare and hard to obtain, but apparently he got them from some guy who smuggled them from Asia years ago)

Well today was pretty nice of a Christmas. . . . Got to talk to my dad on the phone for the first time in over 5 months.

Hey, I'm not too far from you there in Sunnyside, I'm in the Tri-Cities. I hatch year round, if the birds are laying. I show silkies and Dewlap Toulouse, and play around with a couple other breeds for fun and food. Do you have specific questions? I use brooders to raise my chicks,.

I can tell ya that goats can be pretty good at hiding illness and then go fast. They may look a little down tonight and by morning they are gone.

The first thing that comes to mind for a goat with diarrhea is worms and then possibly cocci. I don't know what people are using for wormer but let me tell what I found to be by far the easiest and most effective. Ivermectin injectable for cattle GIVEN ORALLY 1.5 cc per 110#. Since we had pygmy and very few were over 110 I just dosed them all for 110. You can't hardly overdose them. And this helps with lice too.

I would add DE to some treats, like a bucket of 1-2 cups of omelene daily for about 3 weeks to kill off any intestinal worms. No worm can build up an immunity to DE.

But there is nothing showing that DE, when used internally, is effective on an established parasitic infestation. Also I have heard reports that moisture can make DE ineffective/less effective since it relies on abrasive action to create holes in the exoskeleton of insects which then causes them to dessicate. Hard to dessicate when surrounded by moisture. If you think you might have a pest problem, use a wormer to worm. Safeguard is effective and save, as is ivermectin. Both have large margins of safety,.
