This brings up a funny thing. The neighbor went in the stables that his step daughter owns and got some "hay" to put down out by thier chickens so it wouldn't be so slippery. Well when she went out and looked it turns out that he didn't know the difference and actually put alfalfainstead of local hay. It was no real big deal just kind of funny and I am sure the chickens loved it.

I put down Alfalfa in the chicken's nest boxes once. I came out the next day to collect eggs and couldn't figure out why the hay wasn't in the boxes......

Ooops.

Anyone give their birds Kiwi Fruit? I don't really care for it, but the CSA box has included some for the past few weeks. Some are starting to get wrinkly.

I tried doing a search, but it is not listed with the foods chickens can eat, nor is it on the list of food chickens should not eat.

Temps here are normal.

I saw Inception in theaters. I was actually really let down. I thought it was going to be a Christoper Nolan masterpiece, but, it wasn't as dream-like, freaky, or even mysterious and twisty as I was hoping.

It was long and drawn out, there wasn't enough twists or even dreamy weird things going on, and even when things like that did happen, they weren't really enough. Dreams can be pretty far from reality, your consciousness is actually really easy to fool, especially when physics are meddled with, yet they rarely ever touched that.

My dreams for one are never as, sorry to say, boring, as most of theirs. Christopher Nolan did a better job with his Batman remakes, in my opinion. Never saw Memento though.

I think the biggest let down, honestly, was that there was no unexpected twist. Everything was pretty blunt, predictable, or seen before it happened. I must admit - The whole time I was trying to think of possible twists or problems they'll run into while watching it, and I never was surprised or even ran into those neat, imagined scenarios.

we thought it was fun either way... I liked Shutter Island too, which we watched last weekend. I am pretty easily amused though.... My son is convince that in Inception, the dream had ended because the top was 'wobbling' and we don't get to see if it actually topples or not.

I commented to Nathan during one of the dream sequences -- I think at level 2? or 2/3.. when there's floating and twisting and stuff... that's how dreams go too---no sense whatsoever, they just keep going.

it was good for a bowl of popcorn on movie night at home in front o' the fire

It's raining like a sun of a gun here now. I guess it has been for hours. It's bad but it hasn't interfered with the satellite connection. I can hear it on the metal roof pretty good though and when it rains really good it drips down the stove pipe in the living room and hisses on the stove. And it's hissing.

Just saw the news and they are warning of flooding on many rivers. Hope none of you are effected by any of this. FYI yes I am near the Cowlitz but am high. It would take water about 50' deep to get us. We have lots of standing water but that is just because we live on the wonderful clay.

Everybody take care and be safe.
