SadieSue~you can get the mini brinsea with nothing automatic for 65 bucks-new. I can't remember if it was on the brinsea site or if it was on ebay... I will look for the links. For what you want to do, it would probably be great. I think it's the new style brinsea octo 10. little round jobby. you just let me know if you do want some lil eggs!

mine failed I believe.. no pips and yesterday was The Day. I am sad. aw well. I did just get my new octagon 20 set up last night... it's stabilized and filled, so hope this will be a better hatch.

thank you for the nice words.. *warm fuzzies* big_smile It was fun meeting you, and I am very much lookin forward to coming to the wine shop for tastings lol!

Thanks all of you for the feedback - I considered everyone's input and checked some of the incubator threads and decided for my "entry level" purposes the Brinsea was probably the way to go. I even mentioned it to DH and he just kind of nodded his head and said "oh Okay". I don't know if it was because he was agreeing with the notion that I have a little fun hatching eggs or if he was just really focused on eating the sandwich he had just grilled in the panini maker.

If I determine a little Brinsea is in my near future Jen I will let you know so I might give some of those little Serama eggs a try!

Sorry no pips.

Is there any hope at all for them by waiting a couple of days, or is it over for this batch?

Nice to have another somewhat sunny day here in the NW - too bad I'm stuck inside catching up on chores.

Well, my last message got lost somehow. Recommended someone forget about eggplant seed unless they planned on growing it in a greenhouse it's whole life. It's more demanding than tomatoes or peppers and the pollination and productiveness is just about nothing here.

And on the LG incubator compared to the GQF hovabator go with GQF. LG temp control is super touchy and the one I had even with the fan had a 2 degree difference from one side to the other. go figure? Couldn't figure that one out. The plastic insert is extra money on the LG and the LG doesn't have enough water channels for correct humidity. Bottom line, never buy an LG. Like Illia said, trash material, even the one with the fan. I love the GQF styro foam. Not sure how many eggs you plan on incubating but the GQF with fan and turner that holds 42 eggs runs $110 as a Nasco kit from Nasco Farm. Well, thats what it was last year. Not sure what the Brinsea holds. You will need a hygrometer for the LG and the GQF.

Oh, and talking about bad days, I had an aweful night. Can't go into detail but think alchohol and jail and it wasn't me. Life is a freaking B---H.

Tis over! aw well. I candled them and tossed 'em.

I am gathering more Serama eggs again.. hint hint! lol!

was a beautiful day.. I think I got a bit done. My friend and I mucked out the goat pen, boy was that EVER overdue.. nice to have good smellin' clean bedding in their sleeping area. She was thrilled to have mulch for her garden.. win win all the way around.
Now I am gonna try and catch up on house work... maybe.

Hmm... I just sent a few questions to the seller. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks - I don't think this had been posted when I was looking earlier today.

Okay, many years ago we were given some chickens. ONe of them was a Seabright (I think that is what it was) - kind of a minature chicken...she died of old age...fortunately she was not massacured during a dog attack - which ended our chicken involvement some 10+ years ago. What can anyone tell me of these little chickens - other than that they give small eggs.

What a beautiful day!!!!!!
