I vote bleach. Most of your restaurants - especially ones that are small and have a hand washing system use bleach to disinfect. Mix in the right ratio (can't tell you what that is). I fill my sink (with not hot wate as it will kill the bleach) with warm water and go blurp blurp with the bleach. I use it (usually) as a rinse, but if I was out of soap I would use it to clean to. It will dissipate off the dishes as they dry - if you feel you got too much. Please becareful not to get it on your clothes - it will ruin them. I use bleach for counters and dishes and door knob all the time. Vinegar for my floors and windows and mirrors.

edited cuz me coffe has not kicked in yet.

I have quite a few cats - and dogs. I let my cats see the little chicks...but be warned...they will eat baby chicks. My dogs were allowed to sniff and meet chicks and older chicks (I am not up on the proper terminology)....but I let my dogs see the chicks through the entire growth process to become familiar with them. Once the chickens are of decent size they can pretty much hold their own against a chicken. When my ladies free range I have had a cat "watch" them, but I know that my roo Tyson would kick some kitty-cat booty if they got to familiar with the ladies. Also, I do have 1 tweety-bird killer -and I have used my BB gun on him. If he would get watching the ladies to closlely he (the cat) would get a BB bounced off his tush. None of my cats bother my full grown birds.

This is the best dish washer ever, isn't he? He gets off all the chunky and remaining items...then hot water and bleach water rinse and you are good to go.

What's the minimum order? I thought they were $9.50/chick? How many are you wanting?

12 chick minimum @ $9.50/chick (or thereabouts) + $45 for the shipping & box. Really all we would want is 2 or 3. Maybe we can just buy a couple from someone. ???

Oh, my gosh.....I have a bird shipping box - or did. It was left out in the shed. I don't think it got thrown away. I will try and find it this weekend. You guys are welcome to have it if I can find it. I will let you know. I can get it to Heather or I can mail it to you Pitter Patter.

My cats avoid my chickens. If the chickens are enclosed in their runs, the cats will watch them on occasion, but when the girls are roaming the yard, my cats steer clear. The hens are more interested in my cats, that the cats are in them.

I forgot about this, I have seen my chickens following my cats around. Makes the cats realy uncomfortable. I have a photo of one chicken having a stare off with Zach, one of my big boys.

This is my Zach checking the chickens out. He was interested, but they actually scared him whenever they got to close. We will sit in our yard and feed treats (when the weather is nice like these photos) and Zach figures we are a captured audience and he can come and get some lovin' too.

Beautiful puppy pictures....love them all.

Cheryl good to hear from you. My thoughts - don't sweat venting....That is what we (at least me) are here for. A shoulder to lean on. Best of luck to you and your family.

I haven't seen her since shortly after she had posted about him gettin to think about it overnight in the can. Hope she comes a postin' soon.

I needed a couple of days to get my head strait. My Dumb DH is ok except for a possible broken nose from the airbag. I get to be the not so lucky transporter for him. As I REFUSE to have the ignition interlock blow thingy installed in MY truck! No sir now way! Thats MY truck, and HE isn't driving it! When I saw him in court and he had to watch me about loose it in front of the judge, he realised then that he has done some major damage, and how much it has affected me and our daughter.
It was really cute though. When I picked him up from county jail, our DD Chloe scolded him about the broke car. Two years old and tells her daddy that he is bad and broke the car.

I love my little girl.

We had the car hauled off yesterday, as I did not want to look at it every time I step outside. And I had just filled the tank. My DH owes me more than he knows.

Waking up at 4"45 just isnt my cup of tea, but I will do what needs to be done in order for him to get to and from work.

I'm here, I am ok, and I am no longer a complete mental case over this situation. But by no means is he anywhere near out of trouble with me. He successfully in one night, put us about $3500 more in debt.

We wont be purchasing property anytime soon now.

Sorry, honey. Yep, it is very expensive lesson to learn...and hopefully he has learned. Good for your DD. He needs to think of what the alternatives could have been....killing someone else or killing himself.....make sure he realizes that he could have left your DD without a daddy. Or someone else's DD or DS without a parent. Very scary.

You know we are all here for you ....use us to vent at.

Out of all the things here on the farm, I think the thing I worry about the most is the red tail hawks. I will use the compact disk idea for around the coop / run area. Will be interesting with the rest of the property, being we are so open.

Ive noticed here in our area, that white birds will be the first to get picked off by the birds of prey... Buffs, black, or any color that doesnt stand out a whole bunch tend to blend better and not get noticed. Being right next to the salmon hatchery we have bald eagles, hawks, and osprey over head ALL the time... I lost my Barred Rock roo 3 years ago to one of the eagles. He was the only non white bird to be taken, but he saved his girl from being carried away. Poor Rustle Crow, sacrifised himself to save one of his herrem.
