to you and DW. Hope you get good news soon. My DW has family there too but I don't remember where. I think Osaka.

Ogress I don't know what prices you have found but I know a local breeder who has better SQ than mine and when I talked to him a while back he was putting trio's up for auction. He said that at that time he would sell a trio for $50. I can pm his # OR if you are not in a huge hurry I hope to get mine set up soon. Like right after I get caught up withthe bells. Geeze doing all these bells is making me kind of DINGY !!!

Anyone bought bottles of water and foor and stuff to stash away??
We just used up all our supplies from the last camping trip.
I should go get some today & rotate out the cans of food.
I'm thinking I should stash the EQ supplies for the house....outside the house.

Somebody on TV said we should stash some clothes as well as these things can hit at night when we are in our PJs.
Can't survive this fridgid weather in a quake in my duckie PJs...

Rainwolf...I bet you have great ideas on this stuff.
I know I should have moved to spokane when I had a chance.

I've just officially booked my trip. I leave Sunday morning at 6:00 am (which is really like 5 am with the time change this weekend!) and I am staying out there until April 4th. It's going to be a long 3 weeks! But it's what I feel I need to do since my uncle will be out of town from 3/21-4/3 and she will need the most help when she comes home.

I will miss my two hatches, one on Sunday and one on the 22nd. Hope the kids and DH can do ok with the babies! I am sure I will be posting still while I'm away. I think I'll be doing a lot of sitting around and waiting.

<<<<<<<<<<<good vibes>>>>>>>>>>>
to Mike & Family. The phone lines might be down. Don't worry. Its past mid night over in Japan. We'll pray that all is well.
Hope everyone is safe....& healthy too.

Hmmm...don't some of them have to go because you only need one roo? And if your chicks are straight run you'll have only maybe half of the desired number???
Definately room for at least 4 more fluffy Orps...cause half of those will be boys too.

welll -- they were SUPPOSED to be pullets only --- yeah yeah I know, 90% only is guaranteed --

looks like the crate deal may be going down the tubes --- the guy with the trailer who was set to deliver them, has mechanical problems and guests coming from out of town, so I have to wait a week, see if any are left then .... and DH is making unhappy noises about coop and run on the property "what will the neighbors say?" ... though two of them already have chickens

I just called about those wooden crates and the guy that answered said they were all gone. did anyone have their name on some and now cant get them? I wanted to pick one up if so. oh well snooze ya lose! I will just have to build one I guess...

The raffle is always fun, as is the breeders auction (watch for a little pullet from me), the egg auction, and the show in general.

To the person looking for low priced RI red bantams- check the sale section at the show. If they are too high now, go to the fall shows. Everything is cheaper in the fall because there isn't as much demand. A lot of people shop at the spring shows compared to the fall.

It looks like I will be staying over Saturday as well as I am no longer sleeping in a hotel, thanks to a wonderful friend (Sheryl) who breeds amazing frizzles, cochins, silkies, and showgirls. You guys who go should definitely take the time to meet her. Very down to earth.

okay -- thanks for the updated info -- Shannon (broodytood) will be interested to hear this too

guess it was not to be, I'll keep prowling Craigslist for coops or coop material -- still have a month or so before these cuties will be ready to go outside --- and they will need an insulated building to begin with since if I remember correctly, our last frost date is May 1

of course by then they will have passed the "much too cute" stage, and be into the gangly-teenage-but-still-dignified era

I just wanted to post some pics of my hens and roos that the eggs will be coming from for the Monroe show. These are gorgeous English line Orpingtons, some of the best lines in the country. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Just gorgeous! I'm so excited that there are more folks out here with these lines! Looking forward to swapping eggs/babies with you and RedReiner in the future!!! Thanks for sharing your photos!

I'm looking for someone near Bellingham who very recently hatched some coturnix chicks and who might be willing to sell me a couple as friends for my lonely only. I incubated a batch this last month and had only one hatch on Wednesday. Doesn't look like anyone else is going to pop out.
