Thinking I can get a handle on the barking thing by raising the pup in the chainlink yard first around the house before giving it the run of the rest of the property when it's old enough. That might be a possible permanent situation since the chickens border the fence. The only thing is we give the dogs access to the garage which is on the opposite side so if he is sleeping in there he might not hear or smell anything going on at the chickens.

watch them for puppies and young dogs - I bet they get them too. Ya' know they didn't match the furniture...or by 6 months the owner did not realize they would be the size of a house. Good place to watch....you would be doing a good thing.

Welcome Sheryl! Glad to see you here! I came down to the show in Chehalis in December with two of my girls, and we bought 3 bantam cochins from you, a blue pullet and a pair of black ones for their 4-H project. They just hatched out some babies from them last week!

I am sooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to coming home on Monday! We are supposed to get a winter storm here in Massachusetts on Friday night. This will be the 3rd time it has snowed since I've been out here!!! I'm so ready for spring!!!! Mom is doing better everyday. Learned to use crutches (FINALLY!!!) yesterday and her Physical Therapist thinks she should be home in her own condo before her next Dr's appt in 4 weeks!

It is raining cats and dogs, my Polish are so miserably wet they look naked, there's lakes outside everywhere, and. . . I at least have 2 incubators full of eggs and I now have 2 Polish hens laying!!!

So I really hope this bad luck streak with our fellow WA Peeps and their families is over soon. My 18 yr old nephew had a hot oil cooking fire on Sunday night and has been at Harborview for the last few days with 2nd degree burns on his arm and foot.

He was supposed to come home late this afternoon. Hoping all went well and that is still happening. It's so hard being this far away!!!!

I know there are rooms left. I just looked...but there are baby geese, baby ducks and lots of eggs there to tempt me and even if I don't bring my wallet I'll find a way to bring more critters home.
I do need to pick up my new incubator from Pips& Peeps though...

Best Western? I could drive my Sion down & not cry about hte gas prices too much. 37miles to a jug with AC on... but the trunk is WAY too big.
I need to drive a tiny car. Maybe a Miata.
