Ok final count on the hatch!

6 Blue Ameraucana
2 1st gen Olive eggers
and 2 2nd gen Olive eggers

I opened up the very last BA egg, and it looks like it was a double yolk. Had what looked like a growth on its poor little head...

Tha baby I helped out.


And the rest, who all hatched without help.

Whats a good duel purpose breed?

As much as I love ducks. Im not allowed to have waterfown anymore. lol My DH is ok with me hatching chickens, with the promise of selling as many as I can, and processing the extras. Soooo.... Im trying to figure out a good breed, or mix of breeds "not mutts" that are duel purpose. hens decent layers, and roos a decent weight for processing... So 2 dozen eggs is what my bator says it will hold, I know I can stack eggs also. lol

Any sudgestions on a good breed to raise? or should I look for meaties?

AND!!! stupid tarp is sposed to be 16x20... humph!!!! its 12x19!!!!!! barn is 10x20 and its a bit short all the way round..... liars.....
