Hey, just noticed this thread. That's cool that you can keep 3 hens in Seattle, I had no idea about that. I think that's a rational law!

I live in Roslyn, WA, which is near Cle Elum. I keep chickens, ducks and geese in town, it's okay here as long as your neighbors don't mind. I have two roosters, no one minds them, in fact they like them.

Helaine!

I if I can find a male brown chinese, I could have a young turfted Roman for you!!
I can't let him go until I find a mate for the goose that hatched him! Without the baby, she is all alone.
(The real parents are not very nice to her.)

Hi All!

Wife and I and our 2 boys are in Vancouver. We also have caught the chicken addiction bug and have 6 hens. My wife usually posts but since I had a few minutes I thought I would add us. I am the DH, coop builder, hen feeder, poop cleaner upper and DE spreader. It was my wifes idea to get some chickens but since our coop is built and we have the girls I am loving it. But all information is correct as far as a few is never enough! Hopefully we can meet up with some of you in our area and talk chickens.

She doesn't sex - just buys them sexed whenever possible. I think she's getting to the end of the season and it's getting difficult for her to get pullets only. She's just began incubating her own eggs. I spoke with her this week and she has maran and ameraucana eggs in the bator now.

I was looking at her most recent add on craigslist (searching chickens and looking for area Carnation) and as I was reading the fine print saw that on some of the breeds she's only selling as pairs. I didn't see lots of older birds so I think she's pairing up remnants of straight run orders. Her birds sure were pretty - keeps a clean set up- and she's spending time setting with her young pullets so they are ever so friendly I was really impressed - she had a young Buff Catalana that came right to me and even hopped onto my hand.

I'm headed back out on 8/9 to pick up 3-4 Welsummer pullets she says she's getting from privett on 8/8. I've enjoyed hatching this year but it is a relief to find some of the breeds I've wanted in small numbers and pullets only. You might just call and see if she would show you what she has - be warned she'll likely have something that will steal your heart!

Also should add she doesn't like to email - prefers to talk over the phone. She says she never learnd to type well.

We have a Rhode Island Red rooster and a Golden Seabright rooster that we are trying to find good homes for. We live in Snohomish, Wa. Let us know if you are interested

I posted a rooster for free on Craig's list and got a call from a woman in Snohomish. She ended up not coming to pick him up because she didn't want to pay for the ferry. Let me know if you'd like her number. She has 84 hens and said she wanted more roosters.

They're not very creative, I guess. Though the Newport, Wa is interesting... I mean, it's not even on the ocean!

Did you know that it was in Idaho? The town grew, and in the 30s the moved the post office to the other end of town which happened to be on the other side of the state line. Now, there's Newport and Old Town. My folks work in Old Town and live just west of Newport.

Selena that is very interesting.

If anyone is interested we have a pair of brown chinese geese that are about 4 months old from Metzer farms, the male looks awesome and the female is a little large. We also have a pair of black cayugas that are about 2 months old from our winning line that look great already. I can send pics if anyone is interested. We are just north of Spokane.

If anyone is interested in these I know I could fit the ducks and can try for the geese. I am picking up birds tomorrow in Spokane that are going to camp with us along with my sebbie gosling (shes my baby, and healing from a predator attack, so I have to keep a real close eye on her). But anyway if anyone wants I should beable to bring them back with me. You can pick them up here in Kent. I might not beable to check my mail this weekend though so if you can let me know before I head out in the AM.
Anyone know anyone who has any BEI over there on the way to Newport? I am looking for a drake??

Ok, What is a BEI?

I really need a male Brown Chinese!!
How far is Kent from Auburn?

I had to fess up to another setting hen. last night, I really doubt the Hubby would take a drive to Kent to get MORE BIRDS, but I do have a sister in Auburn!!
