This question was raised on the Sex-Link thread I posted about awhile back. Here's the answer:

"Q 1. Can a gold laced or blue laced red wyandotte rooster be crossed with a silver laced wyandotte female and produce red sex linked chicks?

A. 1. Yes, the chicks with buff on their faces are females and the chicks with white in their faces will be males. Both males and females will also have black patterns on their head and face which will hide some of the buff or white facial down. Silver laced wyandotte females should be included in group 2B in the Breeds to Cross table. "

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I knew it was someone from this part of the community, but per usual I encountered it when I was at the "too tired to walk to the bedroom" part of the day, and forgot the information.

Whew, it's been a while since I've been on here. I'm just stopping in quick before class, I'm so excited! My first duckie is hatching! They go into lockdown today but this morning one was peeping away and already has a good part of the egg pipped!

Also, I meant to say: the SSHs listed on the Seattle CL right now are from the same flock my birds came from; they were fine in the pet carrier on the way home, settled in immediately in their run (after a few demands for better weather protection) and I now have two of them laying after eight days here. So: if you're looking for small lovely graceful well socialized chickens, she still has some.

Just had the nicest visit with Julie/Pettec63 who drove all the way over from Eastern WA to pick up some chicks and eggs from me! We got to talk chicken for almost 2 hrs and it was great!
