Here Ron, check out this thread. But to answer your question, yes, it's safe. It is just clay and DE. Just be sure to get Stall dri, not Dry stall.

I would still use DE in the dust baths and Stall Dri with sand in the poop board areas you have under your roosts. Then you use a cat box scoop like CL said and scoop the poop. I like stall dri because it seems to absorb amonia and smell really well. Up to you though.

The utter inefficiency of this day just kept keeping on: somehow...well, I know how, I didn't want to carry my purse because it hurt my ribs- I misplaced my wallet, with $49 bucks and my plastic in it, also my house keys, which may mean we need to deal with that little problem, too.

You may now assume I'm using all the swear words I learned at my father's knee. My father, the logger, and Army sergeant.

For a dust bath ?
They NEED a dust bath.
Get a tub at Home Deot & fill with half sand & 2 feed scoops of DE & place it where it stays dry....clean out shavings with a cat pan spoon...I wouldn't use stall dry for the very reason you said.
I have poop trays under my roosts, with sand in them, and no one dust bathes in them, is this any help at all ?

Dust bath tub:
Also a great tub for ducks!
$8 at Home Depot

Probably does not help, as I never did answer your question, but I would say no.
No stall dry.

I will take him to Home Depot and get him one! I love those! I have two large ones but they are both in use right now.
And if you check out the thread I put on my post to Ron one of the people on there called the manufacturer and they said there was nothing toxic in it.

ETA- There is another product that is toxic and I think it's Dry Stall, so you have to get the right one.

Oh thanks so much for taking a group shot!!! I'd say for sure that the darkest one is blue. But blue comes in many shades from light to dark. Kind of hard to tell on the others if they are a light blue or a splash! Once they fully feather out you'll have to share another pic!

My other buyer emailed me back late last night and said she had one defininte blue too. She was going to try and have a better look at them today and let me know.

I meant I only have 2 dark!! jeez where did I learn to type!!

Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have been on here. Been busy with springtime, planting seeds, and working onthe site stuff.

Im looking for some large breed birds that lay well. Anyone have any of the less common birds? I have a couple sussex at the moment and they are good birds so Im going to try either some more sussex or similarly sized birds.

Has there been a meeting lately? Have I missed it? Or have you all been secret enough about it to not let me find out?
