Don't worry, justbugged, I've cut and pasted this entire thread into my super duper dirty secret files that are located in a high security secret chicken coop. When the boys leave you carrying the chicks, I'll be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you were coerced.

Hi

I am going in for surgery tomorrow at 8 am in Tacoma at St Joe's and I will be coming home later in the day. The Dr decided to take out my cochlear implant as it is really messed up and can't wait for the actual surgery date to put the new one in. So that will be Feb 3rd. Give me about a week and I will be back posting here.

I work tonight but will be on line for a bit when I get home.

I work from home, so I usually have them out in the yard. I went to check on them and one was gone... but I started to hear her "honking" (seriously, she sounds like a goose) then I noticed that she had made it to the neighbors, over our shared fence.

I walk over to the gate, and she walks up and waits for me to let her back into our yard...

Guess I will be getting out the scissors for some trimming tonight.

>> I think I am going to get an Americauna... The is a gentleman out in Orting that advertises on CL. Anyone have any experience with him?

Thanks!

No experience with him, but Yippee on the Ameraucana! You will love collecting a greenish blue egg. I approve of your choice 100%. Remember, most Ameraucanas that are out there are actually EE's. But they are very nice chickens usually. I love all 4 of mine and wish I had about 10 more. My fave is a white EE who lays me a very pretty light blue green egg. The rest lay green - 1 a blue green and the other two a sort of olive green in 2 different shades.

Can't help you there. But I know that you won't be the only one. Have you thought of having an indoor chicken or two? You just have to keep their cages cleaned up well. But it would be just like having a large exotic bird really. Except that they would earn their keep. I would make sure they look a little bit like the outdoor chickens.... That way you could let them out once in a while and bring the other one in. Just a thought! But I should warn you that I am completely bonkers. So take my advice at your own peril.

Oh, and

LaSombra - So Cute! I want to hatch an egg too!

Ron, Christine and Rob. I will be taking all pilfered poultry to an undisclosed location on the Columbia river. Feel free to drop by. The hot chics and I will be hanging out on a clothing optional beach. If you know where that is, you might just be able to find us.
