I caught no rats agin.
This time, all sticky traps were out, and all rat traps had a wad of velvetta...so far, maple syrup-oatmeal balls, peanut butter, chocolate frosting, grains. pepperoni, and grains have been used for bait.
I looked up rat traps last night & saw an interesting one, uses a 5 gallon bucket, a dowl inserted horizontally through the top of the bucket with a soda/beer can on it.
The dowl runs long ways through the can.
The can can twirl on the dowl.
The can is then painted with peanut butter, picture this in your mind.
Then you fill the bucket with 2 gallons of water.
Then you build a trim board ramp with carpet stapled to it, and attach so rats can walk up the ramp, and jump on the can, which rolls and the rat falls in the water & supposibly drowns.
It said this system can successfully trap & kill multiple rats a day.
I am not so sure a rat couldn't jump right out of the bucket though....think it is worth a try??
I will see if I can find the link~
here is the link:

I am also going to look into some other traps, more open, as this is a smart rat!!
Will not go near any trap regardless of bait, will not go IN any container type trap either...
