you're asking us enablers to talk you out of chicks ????!!!!!

you need a close-by chicken buddy to help you with these things ....

if I didn't have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and trouble taking care of my own flock, I'd come help

but these days, "helping" is mostly sitting down making rude remarks ...

Hmmm....Sumatras you say? Let me know if you get them....and if you'd like to swap lines....I have a 10+ chicks that I'll be weeding through in the fall and needing to get rid of....I'm always looking for new blood.

You're not hellllllllping!

In your search of the Wyandotte Bantam world, have you come across someone who has whites? Beau lost his cockerel, and as I said: we need to get better birds to these 4Hers (his Sumatra Rooster is pretty nice) and a good white roo would be a place to start.

As long as he's getting the whole spa treatment, why not paint his nails while you have a chance?

I should....he only escaped three times and I was waddling around behind him. He's TERRIFIED of the dogs which made it easy for Cash to round him back up and send him running back to me each time he escaped. He's in a wire cage now in the backyard, air-drying. He was wormed, washed with whitening shampoo and flea/tick dip, his nails & spurs trimmed and once he's dry, I'll be spraying him with mite spray. He seems like a well-mannered roo, too.

Dan Jerome for white wyandottes. He can be kind of flakey at times but he has nice birds and if you're persistent, you might be able to get some birds from him.

That's pretty much my level of help incoming from the person who's here the most- he sleeps a lot, too.

Not that I'm much better. I've over-done a couple of times recently and then had to cope with repeated blood glucose crashes as a result. So I have to tiptoe around and test, test, test so that I don't end up outside, alone, with my BG dropping, a feeling I can do without forever.

Come and and live with the cool kids! Where the colored eggs, crazy hairdos, feathered feet, curled feathers, and puffy cheeks are abound!

Hello fellow Washingtonians... My name is Kelly and I am from Vancouver, WA. I am new here to BYC and to chicken ownership. We got our first Chickens in May, 6 Orpingtons..They are now about 10 weeks old and tonight just went and got 2 Blue Andalucians. They are 1 week old. I never really liked Birds... For years I kept saying NO CHICKENS, then I gave in and so far I have really enjoyed my Chickens..

Hoping to learn lots of valuable information from all you other chicken owners..
