You guys are funny!!!! I mean that in the nicest way...
My back yard is approx one acre. Plenty of room to have some chickens. The question is which ones..I've kinda narrowed my choices down to three.
R R; BR; and leghorns.
Here's a problem for you all. (I'm dithering over this so much it's making my head hurt) I have a shed that is 12 x 8 and 7' inside. However there are several problems with converting it to a coop. First, the roof is in truss form, would the chickens try to roost that high and on 1 x 4's?. It's location is very bad but I can drag it to another location with a southern exposure. The biggest problem is that it is just texture 1-11 on 2 x 4 studs. There is no vapor barrier. There is a sliding window on one end.
I would rather have a brand new shed (a little larger) but that would mean more $$$$.
So I could move and remodel my current shed to house the chickens and build a new shed or I could just build a new chicken coop in the designated spot.
Since I'm retired I have time on my hands but not a lot of $$$$. Either way, the cost will come out about the same, a few sheckles more if I just build a new shed, etc.
Suggestions, hints, etc....Mikey
