I am not sure but I think when I met with jbear a couple weeks ago she may have been talking to somebody else about one of them going there. You may want to pm her or try like in the eve.

I have no idea why they stopped the contractions at 37.5 weeks, but I'm looking forward to my appointment today. It's at 11:30am.

I had been taking the anti-contraction drugs all day yesterday and as of last night at 8pm the drugs stopped working. I took another dose at 2am and did not take one this morning, yet.

I'm having contractions (almost constant) right now and have been since 8pm but they are maybe a 3 out of 10 on the pain scale.

So I'm just going to keep busy, get some last-minute things cleaned and wait for my appointment....

yes I remember what those extended labors are like .... they didn't try to stop me, they didn't try to hurry me, they just kept putting me on the cold cold X ray table to see if I could actually deliver .... (large headed babies)

I did it and you can too

Yeah I have no idea why they stopped the contractions--other than the doctor looked "busy and bothered" to be there....LOL I'll have to see tomorrow if I've progressed any more.

Yeah....the contractions were pretty horrible...they were 4-6 minutes apart, 40-60 seconds long and "coupling" which meant there was no break in-between.

The stuff they have me on is a heart medication that actually LOWERS your blood pressure...mine was pretty high when I went in (I was in a lot of pain & anxious) but after I settled in it was 110/64. Before I left the hospital, it was 100/60. I was told that I'd be dizzy and to get up slowly to avoid tipping over. I tend to spring out of bed because once I get my momentum--I don't want to stop it!

I had coupling in labor for DS that is when I swore at everyone in the room that I did not give a *(&#* what my birth plan was, I was getting an epidural!

I agree, I think it is too often on the Dr's schedule and not when your baby would come naturally. The way I see it is everyone is done at a little diiferent time, and so long as you are full term (I was told that is 37 weeks but read elsewhere it is 38), everything is moving along as it should, and there is no added risk to mom or baby, let baby come when it is good and ready to, be that 37.5 weeks or be it 42 weeks. My itty bitty 90 lb SIL gave birth naturally to a 10 lb 2 oz baby boy, 2 stitches, hardly any pain on his due date. Less than 2 years later, she was induced at 41 weeks, tore badly, lots of pain, and that boy was under 6 lbs. Clearly he needed more time in the incubator than his brother, but the Dr. had his tickets to Fiji and was not going to have one of his colleagues do the delivery. Of course I say this, and I had 2 C-sections, though not by choice.

Get yourself a big tall glass of iced lemonade, put your favorite movies on, put your feet up and relax and enjoy these last few days. In a short time you will no longer feel so hot and bloated, stretched out, tired and cranky. I know a lot of people told me I would feel worse after the birth because I would be so tired and depressed. Thankfully, that did not happen to me. Other than the incision pain, I felt a million times better than I did when I was pregnant, elated, and full of energy. I hope your after-birth experience is good like that. I think it will be, just a gut feeling.

Thank you!!!!

I'm feeling not so great about my future as a chicken person today: raccoon footprints in the dust of the driveway too close to the young Wyandottes (although heading up the hill to the orchard) and when I candled the eggs Friday I pretty much didn't see anything except a couple had the starry-sky thing that means bacterial rot, yes?

I am verklempt.
