Ah, yes, well, you're in Eastern WA. I wouldn't expect rain there with a storm this small, sorry

It would be nice though. We have not had rain for quite some time now. Everything is all dry (just ask RFF about that). But no rain makes the weeds die and not grow any more so I don't have to pull or weed eat hem anymore.

that was my thought too -- however all the weeds didn't exactly die, they went to seed, and now this steady rain the last half hour or so, will get them germinating

horrors, I will have to cut the grass --- was thinking I could vacuum up the weed seeds, but now that they have been washed into the thatch on the pretends-to-be-a-lawn ....

maybe if I go out and strew a bunch of wildflower seeds, it will look as if I intended it to be a meadow

Illia, were you tracking the front that got southern Puget Sound? It looked like a shoestring, less than 30 miles wide and extending all the way back to the dateline, normal winter storm track but a tiny narrow band of low pressure. Not that I'm complaining, I was having to hand carry water to stuff because of changes in the watering trough layout, and this was real rain, but not your normal weather system at all.

On the other hand: PASTURE. It's only been a week to ten days since the green winked out, so the grass should start growing again pretty quickly.

I'm sort of a general speculative fiction fan, and what gets called a "media fandom" person. I actually dropped another line today, but nobody caught it. Not from Trek, though.

One thing you would like about my flock... NO white large eggs! The silky lays white eggs, and I have no clue what the other two bantams will lay...

It just dawned on me how we can ALL be CR safe....get chickens that lay those nasty white eggs.

He won't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

But my good buddy Ron may be in need of some new birds and he likes those white eggs. I will go to great lengths to do things for my very good fiends.
