I don't think you understand see these are not mood swings like you are probably thinking. See she is a stroke patient. Most of you won't see it but we have days that she is like an adult and then there are the days when she is like a child. Every morning is just another roll of the dice to see what I will deal with that day.

We are all here to lean on. That was my uncle and then he got Alzheimers. It was extremely hard for my parents who were caring for him, initially my dad because he was his older brother, but then my father passed away and my mother took over the last 9 years. I wish I were closer so I could help you out some.

NO!!!!

It's in a can! I say go for it. I've eaten stuff much older than that without fetting sick, I ate 7 year old tuna about a month ago:

when I was 10 I was staying with a friend whose mom had canned a BARN full of foods (she grew up in Europe during WWII). I was eating some peaches when I looked at the label and realized they were canned when I was 2 years old.

In 1989 I worked as a fire fighter for the forsest service. While working on fires we'd some times be out in the woods for weeks with no fresh foods. We packed in MRE's and C-rations left over from vietnam and the korean wars! Most of the stuff was still edible (I would not say it tasted good, but it probably didn't to begin with!), but the bazooka bubble gum was hard as a rock. None of us got sick from the food.

As long as the cans still look good are sealed and show no signs of damage or exposure to extreme temps. I would say go for it. I would not hesitate to eat it. Smell it and taste it . Looks like fish, smells like fish, tastes like fish, must be fish good thing ya didn't step in it.

I can sympathize -- for seven years I had to deal with my elderly dad who developed senile dementia (not Alzheimers though somewhat similar, was lack of blood flow to brain due to massive heart muscle damage from cluster heart attacks)

That's the ONE thing I'm jealous of with city people. Oh and a social life.
