What area of Washington are you in?

We are right in Seattle

Tamara- thank you, that is only about 1 hour away so I will call both of those places.

Kkmoto,

I just got back from both feed stores. I was looking for numbered poultry leg bands as my daughter has decided to show at the Cascade Spring Poultry Show in Monroe on 3/20 and they are required. Not only does Monroe Farm & Feed have a ton of birds in, they are getting more on Friday! I'm going back then to pick up a few bantam partridge cochin's.

Dells only had a few breeds, black & red sexlinks, easter eggers (americaunas), barred rocks, rhode island reds, and maybe 2 or 3 others at most.

I did find numbered leg bands at Monroe Farm & Feed if anyone needs them, but they only had the larger sizes 9 & 11. I think the nine will work for our banty cochin only because of his heavy leg feathering. Does anyone know locally where else you can get these? Del's didn't have them. I may need some smaller ones as one of my other dd's is wanting to bring her OEGB and he's tiny.

Thanks,
Tamara

I may as well, sheesh. Even if we don't get the reloc, if my boss has her way, I'll be down there for 2 out of every 6 weeks. I'm sorry, but I'm just going to have to have a chicken fix. I'm already irritable and it's only been 3 days since I was able to commune with my chickens.

'Bator arrived too. Holding steady in the 99 range. My quail eggs should be here in the next couple days. We're going to be overrun with poultry in the next couple weeks. The 14th will be 28 days sitting on eggs for my turkeys too. DHs and DDs chick order, quail hatching (hopefully)

Wow, I really have to give it to you all!
There is nothing that hasn't been covered this week.
MONROE FARM SUPPLY is the BOMB!
Then there is the show at the Evergreen.

Russ is the IRON CHEF for all of Washington.
Cook it up, we'll enjoy it.

Quail, turkeys, Marans... which I might be interested in as long as there not from CREE FARMS.
I might be entering in the show this year, haven't decided.
I would feel more comfortable if someone else showed them for me and I would pay everything.

Good job to the new arrivals, WELCOME!

Mike

Just poking my head into the Washingtonians page to say "hello". I'm new to the site and new to chickens but have lived in WA all my life. We're right near the Cascade Foothills about 20 minutes East of Everett.

I'm glad to have found the WA page but I really wish I hadn't seen that the Farm and Feed is getting more chicks this week! This might not be such a good place for me after all.

Me either- we live right in Seattle so we can have 3, I think our lot is large enough that the we are allowed one more. (We are up to 5 babies already

)

I might have to order their food so I don't step into a place that has more babies........ (bad impulse control)

We just heard a speaker from the Seattle Urban Farm Coop and she said they do a bulk chicken feed order several times a year. I don't know which brand feed they order or anything else about it (we're not members). It might keep you out of the feed stores so you don't get tempted ;-). Here's their website if you want to get in contact with them http://surfcoop.com/
