Thanks SO much for posting the pics of these tarps! I was just looking at them on the internet yesterday. I think they would be the perfect solution for my Run. The heavy rain we had last week really convinced me the girls need more rain protection. Their run is long and narrow. To keep out the rain I'd need a HUGE overhang or walls. Walls of any kind make it way too dark, I don't want them in the dark all winter. But CLEAR tarps would work really well! I wonder if they might be available locally anywhere? Has anyone seen any? Shipping for one tarp nearly doubles the price.

I have looked everywhere, and there is none to be had.
To ship this giant tarp, was only $45...............Fed Ex, that is not bad considering the weight, it is 30 X 40 feet.........HEAVY!

No better time to start learning to care for oneself than now! Then ya don't end up dependent.

but really hard when:

1) you do not have any power tools
2) you do not have experience and/or confidence using power tools
3) you do not have total access to a vehicle which could carry it
4) you do not have six muscular friends available to help

having BEEN there, a time or two ....

This is true, I am lucky to have tools, and if I do not have the one I need, I go buy it.
I just got a really cool electric planer...wanted one for years!

I was hoping Illia could ID the crysalis, seems some sort of Flutterby..but what kind?
And is it gonna have to hang there all winter?
If so, it will be squished by us working on the house, so I guess I better carefully jar it, and set it up somewhere safer...and away from the birds...

I posted once before but must have gotten missed, is anyone bringing a near POL LF pullet of a calm breed for sale at Stevenson? I have prepurchesed a pullet from CloverLeaf Farm and would like to find a buddy for her in qurantine, my LF are Speckled Sussex and very calm and non agressive. I prefer to buy from BYC's I know that we care for our chooks, rather than someone unknown.

umm.. whatsa POL?

Yes, thank you. It looks like it would cost roughly $100 to rent a Sawzall and a truck for the day. I've never used a Sawzall. I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to cut the shed apart. Our one little power drill is about worthless (for re-assembly). I'd be doing most of the labor myself, and I don't have the energy or strength to do much, thanks to fibromyalgia. I hate to sound like a pathetic wuss, but that's just how it is. The most construction I've done was making a sandbox for my kids, and in that case, everything was cut for me, and I just nailed it together (and moved a dozen bags of sand in a wheelbarrow, which was some work).

yeah, you cannot make it work by renting..too expensive!

Edited to add: I wish I was closer, I for sure would come help you score that coop/shed!
Sorry.
If at all possible, maybe contact Rainwolf, she is an expert at finding & scoring all sorts of coop materials AND she gets them home, with NO CAR.
She is an expert at connecting things up...she has been busy canning, but so far as I know, she is home.

Hundred bucks for a chicken coop? That's a pretty good deal.

Yes and no, it would still have to have work done to it ...I am thinking maybe RainWolf would know someone who could get it to Ari...
