I posted once before but must have gotten missed, is anyone bringing a near POL LF pullet of a calm breed for sale at Stevenson? I have prepurchesed a pullet from CloverLeaf Farm and would like to find a buddy for her in qurantine, my LF are Speckled Sussex and very calm and non agressive. I prefer to buy from BYC's I know that we care for our chooks, rather than someone unknown.

Polish frizzle would have been great, sorry I missed out on those

You do know they're known for Rage Syndrome, yes? I've known two who had to be put down for biting people aggressively.

Haven't known that many, personally, so I'll have to bow to your superior knowledge.

I just got a major notice that I need to take a down day tomorrow: I've had four big ugly blood glucose lows of the sort that mean I've pushed my body's ability to self-regulate past its limits. So, tomorrow I do not get to act as if I am able to keep moving for ten hours a day.

Oops. Did get the livestock panel atop the chicken run, figured out how to keep it from sagging , and gotten a piece of art almost finished to give the yard side of the coop a little snap.

FYI Stevenson also has a free WIFI that works ok. In April I was able to be on line a (laptop) in my booth and in the trailer.

Hi CR,
What do you think of the Fairgrounds as a place to RV camp? Do they have any hookups, especially power? It looks like we'll be taking our trailer down and I was thinking the fairgrounds would be super convenient. I like the wi-fi part, too. And I'll finally get to see your art in person.

We RVed there in April. It was ok. On pavement there was power at that was it. If you haven't already get a reservation soon as they have limited space. The nice thing is the spaces are all very close to all of the events. Do you know about when you may get there ? Maybe we could park together I hear a masked person may be having a potluck with a bunch of ducks on friday night.

I'm tired --- going to hit the sack; dealing with a slight case of hypoglycemia myself, and NOT looking forward to tomorrow's task: scooping all the sand out of the coop, all the nest material out of the nest box, dusting all with DE, then adding a fresh bag of sand (I wish I had two bags' worth, but don't dare leave this new dog alone long enough to go get more)

also need to pull the tarp off the top of the run, tie up the PVC poles a bit better (they got disarranged in that last windstorm, and DH put them back NOT the way I wanted them), then bungee the tarp back on the run so that it drains properly and doesn't flap as much when the breezes blow

I may also try building the overhang on the crate-coop so I can open that door, let the chickens use it too... would give them nearly half-again as much room to mess around in (crate is 5 x 8; existing run is 11 x 8 ... but I can add several levels to the crate-coop

eventually I need to put a sloped roof on the crate, and insulate it before we start getting icy nights ... DH said he did have a couple of mornings with frost on the car already

also fork over the compost heap, including the coop sand and poo

would have done some of that today but I really don't like working in the rain ...

I got a bit of a taste what it costs to do the BIG shows. A lady who had a booth next to me Saturdayhad just done Puyallup.Shesaidshewas justoutside the green gate(?) She siad for 17 days her 10x10 space was $1200. She also said she talked to a guy from Calif who was inside with a 10x10 and his space was $6200. WOW !!!

Nah, I didn't go after that shed. I've been visiting the Kenmore BYCers and just got home.

I currently have eight birds but I plan to go down to six, at least for now.

If nothing else works out, I still have some roofing material! And I can use a hammer fairly well. My husband has a skil saw and a small pickup and can pick up plywood & make the cuts if you give him the measurements. Just don't ask him to do any planning or you'll end up with a tool shed instead of a chicken coop

Hey now we could always turn the tool shed in to a coop

and he'd do all the work???

Are you close by? what kind of roofing materials?

I have a friend in Ohio that raises Goldens. Does your friend also have German (I forget if it is short or wirehaired) Pointers?

*tries not to get "Its a small world" stuck in my head*
