Wow, wish he was in my neighborhood.

Ditto - I doubt he'd want to do who knows how many hours out to here just for some work like that.

. . . Seems everyone with Polish are Roo-less. I know someone in Sequim is trying to sell their Polish and Houdans they got from Murray McMurray. I hope that person doesn't use this thread because they are UGLY!

I'm talking the stringiest and most sparse looking top hat, very thin, scraggly looking body, poor coloring. . . I feel bad for them!

Just got home from the Enumclaw auction. My twin daughters and I had a blast watching all the feathers fly! We bet each other a lollipop that 1 would get loose. I WON!!! 1 did get loose and knocked over another box. It was hilarious! All the feathered friends were just fine and quickly were caught and re-boxed. No runner ducks); I was hoping for some duck eggs even so we could at least come home and make some killer chocolate chip cookies!! But, all the duck eggs were fertile ready to hatch.

Thank you to everyone who has offered me some eggs but I do not have an incubator and am hoping to just find some day old or couple days old ducklings.

So I bribed my girls with some Wally's burgers if they would let me stop at a couple more feed stores to check for runner ducklings. No luck with the ducks!); Everyone is just getting the typical hatchery assortment.

My girls however scored big with burgers and milkshakes! All in all a great day!

On goes the search!

OMG... I was in Buckley WA the other day and it looks like there are a few chickens that rule the town! HAHAHAHA....

I almost ran them over driving through town, they were adorable. I'm hoping their owner pipes up.... it was so cute are they official city pets or whats the deal. And what about predators? Guess they get locked up when they come home from strutting around town.

Unfortunately, my boys have a 4-H District Archery Tournament that day so my oldest son won't be putting any of his birds in the show (yes they officially are his birds). We are bummed as he was looking forward to trying the open class and doing the Fit-n-Show. Their dad will probably take them so I might just pop up though to see the show for a few minutes.

RFF - when were you able to sex the bantam mille fleur? We have several now and are wondering on a time line to know if we have at least one roo, or more, or all girls.

Hey guys we would like opinions on something from you all.

It is evident now that one of our 2.5 week old Millie Fleur bantam chicks has something wrong with it's feet/legs (call it Chick A). The other 2 hatch mates are bounding around of course quite content. In the same chick box are our other 2 MF (5 wks old). We thought at first that Chick A was just weaker and it just slept a lot. Now we see something is not quite right with it's feet; they sometimes stay curled up, and it splays it's legs when it tries to walk. It can barely stand and sort of does this slide push thing to move around the chick box. It is eating and drinking and trying to not get overrun by the other chicks in the box. It has fallen in the water dish a couple times and we have dried it and gotten it warmed up and put it back in the bin with some food right by it. We have thought about putting it in a seperate bin but it seems to like to be in with the others and yells a lot when we take it away from them. The last couple days, we have been holding it more and making sure it gets water without fear of falling in, and we know it eats a few bits of food.
These bantams are pretty much for pets although my oldest son plans on hopefully using one at fair this year for fit-n-show. We have had one person tell us to just get rid of Chick A, and one person tell us that if it stays alive that the it will be picked on more as they all get older. My boys want to help it.
Would you get rid of it or try to help it? If help it, any ideas how to help it?

Thanks

Oh how I wish I could go to Monroe. In late fall I promised a friend I would go to their event on March 20th----- why!!!!

Oi. If anyone needs a nice silkie rooster in blue or black, let me know. I have two excellent boys that I am considering parting with. I have PQ roos as well.
