If they had LF birds -- I missed them. With the exception of some Jersey Giants. I was very disappointed as I'm not into bantams, or silkies.

Yes, there were some LF, but not very many. A LOT of people that usually show there weren't there because of the big Crossroads show coming up at the end of the month...

Sorry I missed meeting you!!

Congrats to all the winners at the show!!! Hope there will be more large fowl at Chehalis! We are planning to go to that one if all goes according to plan and there's no big snow event or anything. We are hoping to bring some our Orps/Wyandottes/Seramas/Bantam Cochins/Crele OEGB. Maybe a pair or trio of each. And we will definently be at Monroe as that is our own back yard.

Lookie what I found today in my Marans Pen!!!! The top two eggs on the left!

These are from my Marans I got from Monicas whose stock was from Cree. I have a Blue Birchen roo over a BCM and a solid splash and solid black. I'm going to work on getting to true Blue Birchens with these in the future.

Oh, and the speckled egg is from CL's cuckoo Marans and the blue-green egg is from her black Ameraucana pullet!

when were you there?
I just got home a few hours ago, musta missed you again!
And yes, once again it was a great disapointment.
There was only 1 American class bird, and to my surprise, a mottled Java hen, which was almosy completely black and only had a few white spangles on SOME of her feather ends.
She did not apear to me to have yellow soles either, but being the only entry, she will at least get BB, BV.
There were Black Australorps...no other Americans.
No RIR, No Buckeye, NO java, no NH, NO Dellies, none.
Lotsa bantams, in every breed, and lotsa ducks, but hey, this is so close to Oregon.

I was there too, it was my first poultry show I really did not want to say any thing but I was disappointed also, except for my beautiful pullets that I got from CloverLeaf

I got them for eggs but I also want to see how they do in this country, and how they go with my other girls. I got some pics in the ducks and geese but every time I went in the chicken side they were judging and I did not want to interfer. On that side all I could see were bantams, mostly Seramas and I will not let myself get interested in those at all, they would have to be mostly house chickens here and that is a no no for me. Will post pics soon. I got to meet CloverLeaf of course, and CR, he was a busy man( unmasked) and CarolynF. I had hoped to meet more of you but I could not keep DH interested long enough to stay more than 2 hrs.
We drove 5+ hrs, round trip to stay there less than 2 hrs. sometimes I just dispair..

Boy, I understand how you must love the pullets you got from Cloverleaf. I have a couple of Salmon Faverolles I hatched from her eggs and I could not love those girls any more. They are the prettiest and sweetest! Well, I might like them more if they would start laying...
So what did you get from Cloverleaf? Favs or Ameraucanas?

Oops, should have read through before I asked what pullets you got from Cloverleaf. Very pretty! Love the lacing on the blue!

Pretty eggs! I SO wish my pullets, (including my big BCM) would start laying! I think they're about 23 weeks now. I can't wait to see what color eggs they give us.
I'm looking forward to Chehalis. I had to miss that one last year.

Do you think it would be crazy to try letting my chicks out into the back yard, or should I wait until they're established in the coop (due to be done Thursday, hopefully)?
