That's why I'm doing Spitz and Brabanters. Those crests are cool, but they do make the Polish more vulnerable.

You need Icelandics.
There are stories RFF has told about how polish are in the snow (

)
I always thought they would be good in snow coming from Poland..........but..........

Think it would be to traumatizing to Toni's daughter to recieve a full coat of feathers skin attached? lol Sounds horible to send them that way. But I don't plan on plucking this mean cockeral, I was just gonna skin him. And I could send the feathers to her daughter.

I've seen hunks of hide with saddle feathers still attached for sale on eBay - this strips sent from China.

Well I know thats how most fly shops get their feathers. Ive seen them come in at the local shop. And Ive also seen wanted adds on craigslist, looking for the entire hide so the feathers are more intact... It really makes sence to me, but I wouldnt want to send the feathers that way if its going to freak someone out. lol Just trying to be polite.

Both!
The poor old things stayed around their house for a while, and then wandered up & down the streets looking for their people, food/water....and they were very frightened.
I do not if from abuse, or due to being old & blind/deaf...lost & scared.
How can you have a animal for so many years & then just go off & let them starve?

Don't ask me. I simply cannot wrap my head or heart around it.

WOW!! Like they couldn't call the vet and maybe ask them to be humane and put them down?? I mean, that is just serious cruelty!! Could you imagine if that was a person?? OMG!! Lets turn them out when they are blind and hungry...... see how far they get!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!

I would bet that from meeting Toni's DDs that it probably wouldn't freak them out to get feathers and skin. But then I could be wrong.

I may have said this before, so ignore if I have. But we always have skinned our meat birds. It makes things so quick and easy. I also de-bone the meat. I watched the Jack Pippen video on YouTube.

Well thats what I was planning to do! Skin and debone the bird... DH wouldn't have it any other way if he's gonna eat it! lol Picky picky! Glad to hear its quiker than pulling feathers.

Yeah, a giant pheasant, but peacocks running loose all over the hillsides make for no sleep, day or night...
sad.png

What is worse is that this guy dumped them out here!
How irresponsible is that?
THE GOOD PART IS THAT WE BOTH SAW THE BIRDS, AND dh SAW THE WHOLE THING, TRUCK & ALL...so we will be notifying authorites.

So he knows how many to catch? and then its supper freezer time if all males
big_smile.png

Tho if one was pure white I'd just catch and sell that one....

Defiantly call and report the animal dump... poor things probably did not get good care anyhow....
I had a friend who's farm used to be the puppy/cat dumping ground for the area....
she got into the habit of walking the road ditches and checking boxes/bags to make sure the critters got help rather then died.
How people can do that to critters I'll never know.

Unfortunately the dumping of critters isnt uncommon. Earlier this summer, we were walking one of the local beaches, and we walked up on a bag of kittens. All were wet, none were alive. Tossing unwanted kittens or pups, off the side of the Agate pass bridge is not uncommon. Sad, frustrating, and infuriorating. "sp?"
