Olive Eggers are a MUST in rainbow baskets. . . They're a hybrid of any dark egg laying breed and any blue/green egg laying breed. They should lay a nice, dark, rich olive green egg.

I don't sell hatching eggs right now except for green laying Easter Eggers.

They should give eggs like the ones in that "green carton" photo I showed you. I'll also have chicks available to sell in . . . 16 days.

Come July I'll have blue egg layers for sale though.

you mean blue egg laying pullets, or grown hens, and what price, I want some, like 4 or 5~~~
You have corrupted me.
I have the little supposed Cuckoo eggs in the bator, they may or may not turn out good and if not they go to the market.
I go to go get some work done..
but I for sure want 5 of the blue eggers

I do not know how you can go back and forth on all these threads and keep them straight, I loose track every time I log on, what page I was on and have to go back and find where I left off~~
Later though, but I do very much want some blue eggers !!!!

My husband had the idea of just taking the skin off the chickens then you don't have to pluck. I don't really care for the skin anyhow.

I wanted to tell you if you heat your pot of water about 3/4 full, dip your bird in it, and hold for several minutes you will notice the feathers fall right out, you really do not pluck, you really just kind of rub the bird and the feathers fall out in gobs. There should be a thread about butchering here, and I highly recommend you use the funnel system to kill the birds, it is fast, and humane as can be.

*sigh* I went to Del's to get a new waterer for my 40 chicks that are now a month old and drinking about a gallon+ a day. I got the 3 gallon plastic waterer. Fine and all... but they had chicks 1/2 off because they had too many. How could I resist the cuties?? I took 4 home. 1 buff orp and 3 from the misc wyandotte bin. My momma hen, Gilly, accepted the 3 wyandotte chicks, but she didn't like the buff orp at all. I guess the others looked enough like her own chicks (dark), but the orp was the odd ball out. So... she's in the house in a brooder. I swear, I'm hopeless.

Well, I might go out and get my little silkie and put her in there. She did well with some smaller chicks before. This buff orp chick is pretty big
