They are very nice and if I were able to do any breeding here I'd be picking those ladies up in a hurry. As it is I'm sorely tempted by them, but still want to hold out for my one blue English Orp girl. I am so taken by the lacing on the blues. One of these days... Hmm, maybe a splash AND a blue?...

you get the nicest lacing from the splash parents. black to splash gives you 100% blue offspring

Well as it is I am trying to get rid of the EE cockerel that has to spend every night in my garage because he's an illegal here in the city. The garage is right under my bedroom and when DH has to work overtime until 2 AM, he sure doesn't appreciate 5 AM wake up crow from the EE who continues crowing for 3 hours until it's light enough for me to let him and the girls out to free range in the yard. I'm trying to avoid having the chicken police show up at my front door so they don't find out I'm over my limit. So stupid - in Tacoma you can have as many as you want, but since I'm right NEXT to Tacoma in University Place, I was told we could have 12 hens only per acre. I'm a 1/4 acre so that puts me just about 7 chickens over my legal limit.

If I could have a rooster I would be thinking seriously hard about breeding those English Orps! 4312 should have these for her English Orpington breeding...

Kaneke - I sent you a PM this morning - did it go through? I heard that CL hadn't been getting her PM's. Wondering if that's been resolved yet.

check to see if there is a credit union for your LOCATION ... not all of them are tied to a particular employer or to military ...
like around here, the Twin County credit union takes anyone who lives in the "twin counties" (Thurston and Lewis I think but could be Thurston and Kitsap)
you can also qualify sometimes if a relative does ... that's how I got into the FAA credit union, and to the Boeing Employees credit union
good luck

Okay:
#1: I am really irritated....how do you "quote" alll the quotes on a comment. This one had like 3.

#2: I QUIT B of A nearly 4 years ago. They wanted me to have photo ID for all 3 of my kids to get them an account. Um...NO!!!! then because we had nothing auto deposited...they were going to charge me some 10 or 12 dollars a month to use my own money. (DH works for city of Okanogan - they don't auto deposit and at the time I was a Real Estate agent - I deposit when I have something to deposit). they did something else that ticked me off..so I was out of there. I am now with the local Credit Union. I wish I had done it years ago. They are the best. My savings acct is "connected" to my checking acct...if or some reason there is not enough money in checking...they transfer from the savings acct..and charge me a huge amount of $2. I can afford that. BofA would not do this...they would not access the savings acct. this was the other thing that irritated me about them.

Thanks, Kaneke - that's a great idea!!!

I go to Cashmere Valley Bank.... and over here at WSU i do a lot of online banking (though federally you are limited to 6 online transfers per cycle)
No fees, none, zip, zero. i have a savings, checking and finally got a real credit card through them. no tricks. local banks are the way.
I only get interest for the money in my account. granted $2 isn't much....

at the fruitstand i have seen a lot of people with the Boeing credit union card. it must be good if everyone has it....
normally i don't like credit unions because the ones in our area... someone kept sending me text spam/scams.... i got tired of reporting it to the police.

CVB i use my debit card and never my check book. there is no cost or fee for using one or the other. Wheatland is a good bank to get loans through too. find a local bank and the money will stay local.

That's a really good point -

Well, we got right around a foot of snow today. I did have to go and bounce snow off of the net covers. But no one is bothering to venture out into the snow....even though it has been fairly warm. Everyone here (at my house) is cuddled in for the night. No - we won't have a "snow" day for kids...unfortunately...they will still have to go...takes a lot for them to get a snow day. Last time there was a snow day was quite a few years ago. Fairly heavy snow...but no freezing rain like you guys. I feel bad for all of you and the crazy weather.

Birds are starting to get a big "owly" (grouchy) because of being in confined areas. They have plenty of area if they would venture out....but no one wants to get their toes cold. I even shoveled the runs out so they had "run space"...still had white stuff on the ground..."I aint going out there"...ie. grouchy birds. I can't wait for spring. Neither can they.

Well, gotta go night-night.

Hi Everyone,

Been a member here for awhile, but never post. I lurk CONSTANTLY! Love, love, love BYC

. Anyway, in Roy which is about 45 minutes south of Seattle. I'm the proud mom of 4 beautiful human children and a school bus driver to support my chicken habit (oh yeah, and to pay all those pesky "other" bills!). Anyway, I started with Polish (smooth & frizzle) & RIR's. After much soul searching I recently sold my entire Polish flock to a gentleman in Idaho. We still breed and sell our RIR's as well as EE's and LF Light Brahma's (my new passion!). We are also starting with Black Copper Marans but are having terrible luck with shipped eggs! I'd love to find someone locally that sells quality Black Copper Maran hatching eggs or chicks. Suppose my constant BYC lurking days are over now that I have officially made a post. Love all the information and entertainment I find here and so glad to see there are so many chicken and incubator addicts in the world such as myself

. Glad to meet everyone and introduce myself!

Just about anyone can join any credit union, save Military ones.

BTW~~~~~~~
We are closing the Wells fargo Accounts next week (have to let auto deposit get done & then we re-rout that to the new account ) BECAUSE Good OL' Wells Fargo is feeing the heck out of eveyone now also.
Gotta pay attention to your checking statement here !
DH noticed it~~~~~
He called them right away !
It is now a $15 fee monthly IF you do not have a minimum of $7500. in your attached savings account OR have your checking attached to your home mortgage.
Wells Fargo mortgagers do not have this fee.
Those with a mere $7000 in savings get nailed !!!!!!!!
I was BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!
We have been sincerely good Wells fargo people for decades (and opened the B of A accounts here in this town in 2010 as Wells fargo is in Chehalis.

THAT is far worse than B of A.

You have GOT to be kidding!!! That's truly disgusting. So we're shielded from this because our mortgage is also Wells Fargo. I wonder what happens if they sell our mortgage? Because everyone now knows it's what they do ...
I was at the branch today confiding in the banker about the horrible fees B of A is imposing. She was all compassion - never letting on about all of this. Yep - I'm digusted...been a customer since 1980, when I got my first job out of college with them ...
Thanks for letting me know -

Well I am going night-night now.

But all the horse photos has sure brought up memories. I have had a few nice ones in my life...and a few wackos...and I have done a lot of stupid things. Once got a black eye...I was riding, bareback, I had to duck under a branch and my MorAb who was notorious for throwing his head....Threw his head up, catching me right on the eye brow above my left eye. Goose egg and 2 really nice shiners. I then got to go to a 4H formal dinner and program, wearing a formal gown, my eyes matched the color of my dress. Kind of a greenish/yellow.

Course this was the same horse that would take your work gloves and run across the pasture with them in his mouth. He also ate Malt balls. Also, one of my mother's friend's taught him how to pick up a beer bottle and he would drink it. That was one crazy horse.

Also, loving al lthe photos of the birds. More - more - more.

Night all.

Chase charged my for making a math mistake on a deposit!

B of A did that to me, so I closed my account and moved it to a local credit union. My credit union pays squat for intrest, but someone told me that there is another one (Don't know the name) that has checking acount that pays a nice amount of intrest. They are in the building that looks like a silo next to Trader Joes. It might be time to move again!
