just talked on the phone to Dad.
he said Lionel passed away sometime during the night and found him not waking up this morning.
He was the reason I joined this site because he was such a different looking bird. Because of him I have learned so much about chickens. I only have 1 bird left from my original flock 4 years ago.
He will be really missed.
Pidgin is doing well and bossy.

Sorry for all of your recent losses. Hang in there girly.

Holy Heat wave Batman!!

Got up this am and it was COLD!! went out to feed, it was kinda warming up !!
Man went outside just now! its 64!!!!!

Man I'm glad sometimes when the weather man is wrong!!

Makes me want to plant something!!! Better not, it's still too cold at night!!

Well, my little girl called me this am and she had to have a tooth pulled!! Like a molar!! Not wisdom teeth!! I can't believe how bad her teeth are!! Compared to the rest of the family, she has the worst, and personally and purely my opinion it was those stinkn flouride drops her doctor gave me!! Justin didn't have them and his teeth are great!! Her teeth came in yellow and she has had quite a few problems!!! Poor baby!! I told her" you need a momma hug don't you"?? And she started crying!! and said yea but your 1000 miles away!!

Broke my heart!!! We didn't have dental insurance when they were little and I feel so bad, cause now she has to go back and they pretty much have to put fillings in almost all of her teeth!!

I remember when my son was an infant they said tetracyline (terramycin) could cause discoloration of the teeth. So not treat with it until permanent teeth were in. Also I think if the mom is treated with it (for any reason) during pregnancy it can affect the baby's eentual teeth. Too much fluoride I believe caused brownish teeth not yellow. But I'm an old fart, my memories aren't always spot on.

hmm don't remember if she had anything like that?? She wasn't a sick kid, so, that for me is the only explanation?? Thanks for the info!
