The problem with being a friend is the line of authority gets blurred. The other day my 2 year old told me that I wasn't her friend anymore, and she wanted me to go away.

I told her that's awesome, it means I'm doing my job, and I'm not her friend, I'm her mom.

To be clear to those saying to take my kids to a kids class. My girls are 2 and (just)5. Not happening. They're not allowed to play with sticks because they use them as weapons. I will hide and lock up any firearm I buy.

Wasn't it you that told me not to worry yesterday!! I have also been told this week it's not over til it's over by WA-4Hpoultrymom, so now I am saying it to you, he might be in a tree somewhere waiting for the perfect time to come back and surprise you! let's hope for that too and I know what you mean about falling in love with them, especially the Marans. But they all have a way of stealing our hearts! we can say at least your son didn't fall down the stairs with a paintbrush in his hands (you know the rest) last night!! LU!!

You're such a sweety and the best friend a girl could have (other than her man of course

)

That is a totally different kind of friend, no man would ever sit and listen to all the drama, tears and loves we have, they tolerate us, and know we are nuts !!!!!

Only your girlfriends understand you.

yes, when they are that little !
But the blurred part is dicey, It is hard to employ, you have to let them know that they can always come to you with any problem, or any question, and always include them in your life.
My early memories of a 20-gauge in my arms, walking a wet clay filled ditch in Central Clifornia with a German Shorthair Pointer on one side, and a Wiemeriemer (sp?) on the other side, up on top of the dike was my mother, my Dad, Gary's Dad and Mom...we (my DH and I ) have been together since birth...and always were raised hunting, fishing, with both guns and Archery.
Our Dads rans a custom arrow biz back then and measured ppl and made arrows for them from scratch, peeling and gluing feathers on the fllights until way after dark....big dogs sleeping next to the couch...like a big brother.

Okay, I am not seeing puppy pictures. Is it okay to show the new puppy even though this is a chicken thread? I wouldn't mind seeing the new puppy....anyone else want to see? I am so glad you are happy.

Nyrial: Amen sister. Good job. I have used these exact words myself. (regarding I'm the mom, not the best friend....you have those at school)

Okay...I have had it....

This rain will not stop.....we are having some 2.5 inches a day (what I heard).....Btw, I live on the EAST side of the Mtns (Okanogan County)...it does not rain this much here. I am getting webbed feet....Don't you on the West side miss your rain? Can I send it back? Please.

I had to put a tarp over part of my poor Chickiepoos run as they can't get out and play outside. Wet, wet, wet.

Welcome from snoho county!! Not sure about Merek's but we have had rampid lice and mites and cocci goin around for a while. Things have been looking for us lately, I will keep you in my prayers for your babies!!

That is totally not true. I am not even sure YOU had all those things going on, the symptoms were not there.
And no one else had it buit the wee isolated friends around you, all stemming from one place.
No one else had any of those diseases and I am confident that you didnt have them either.
Having lice and mites is something that is easy to deal with, and also something not to brag about, as it is always caused by poor cleaning conditions, so it all shines back on your chicken-keeping.
Birds kept well, NEVER have any of those problems.
Advertising that you have is is duhhhhhhhhhhhhh...stating WE have is not true.

Chickielady- I am not trying to be rude, but if you knew me at all you would already know that about me! But you don't know me, nor do you know my situation AT ALL nor have you EVER seen how I keep chickens! To answer about my "wee isolated friends around me" They happen to be my best friends! and all three of us got chickens from the same place, one of them so far HAS died of Cocci and the other of lice!! I would in NO WAY AT ALL EVER brag about that in any way, it was the person we got them from (which all three of us did) and it is VERY sad to see your best friends go through loosing a loved chicken!! The only thing you know about "my situation" is that I have an injured Roo (which was injured when he came to me also with lice/mites) If you in anyway at all think that the lice and mites situation reflects on me then I challenge you to come here and see how I actually do keep and raise my chickens!! My chickens live better than we do!! I am in no way an expert on any of this AT ALL, that is why I love this forum so much and all of the new friends I have made through this, including you! I hope that you have not thought badly about me or the way I raise my chickens and I am truly thankful for the help that I have received on this forum. Please accept my apology if I have said something wrong to create a bad feeling about me! I have truly appreciated your advice about my Roo and for the advice that you have given.

Welcome back and please share pics!!! What did you get??!?!?!?!

we hunted for days , if not months, for the perfect bred, and then applied it to a puppy, and went searching in Muttland to find a pup on death row...Pyranees, German Shepard, and Australian Shepard.
How is that for a mix?
<\\Makes you wonder when I tell you Dad was the Pyranees, and I think he was a Kuvasz, not a Pyranees, and Mom was a German Shepard-Australian Shepard, and this pup is smart and strong, and stold our hearts, everyone's hearts.
He is being very good for sudden seperation from his 7 other siblings....mostly he runs, fecthes, and snuggles and sleeps.

I will post some more...His name is morphing into Jack, and he is a doll...makes me smile to even look at him, he has a eye with white eyelashes, and the other eye has black liner and lashes
big_smile.png
so the total effect is that he has one eye smaller like he is winking !
I am so busy with this baby...and loving him so much !
I also got a big bunch of wild sagebrush hanging in my kichen now.
You can bet that in the next few wekks, you will all be very tired of seeing pictures of this funny boy !
I also have at least one French Blue Splash Maran chick that will need a home, and maybe alot of Ply.BR roos and pullets, and I am looking for Royal palm hatching eggs, Thanks all who have followed me on this odeal to put my 17 year old best friend down to euthanasia, and the quest to find a new puppy to love, and this pup is a rescue puppy...and well worth the drive to Grant County to get him.
So, now you know Jack.
