I cannot find any pics of my Cuckoo Hens when they were chicks, but I just hatched out 4 more CM chicks 2 weeks ago and they do not have the barring as the PBR's do, and so far they do not have the fluff muff either.
Bet you have a CM-EE cross, can't waite to see the eggs!!

I wouldnt mind at all if she turns out to be a CM/EEgg'er! Can't wait until she is older and I can find out what she is!

Not raining out here at in Westport. Doing yardwork and then heading off to do some touristy stuff. Staying at our cute little vacation home in Westport. We rent it out if anyone is interested.

Anyhow we will be back home on Monday and would like to get started with eggs asap. Please contact me about your eggs.

Busy thread today

We go into lockdown tomorrow evening. 7 Blue Slate eggs and 4 mutt chicken eggs, 2 EE x EE, a leghorn X EE, and some random bantam egg, although daddy is a Black Japanese.

8 more slates waiting to go in the incubator, I'm pushing the time line on some of the older ones, and okay.. just ONE MORE hatchery shipment this next week. 5 Black Spanish turkeys, 3 Royal Palm (think I ended up with mostly boys this last shipment), 5 Bourbon Reds, and to make my minimum, 5 buff laced polish (DHs choice)

No more hatchery orders this year!! Somebody

So has anyone hit the 4-H Garage Sale yet? We will be leaving here shortly to go for the ending and clean up, aiming to be there by 2:00 or so.

Had a very late night and we all slept in, and I've been busy making potato salad for a BBQ tomorrow.

Good News - DD won her blue belt in testing last night! Whoo hoo!

Bad News - Came home and found our black/blue Orpington chick had died.

I was afraid something wasn't quite right with it for the get go. Barely made any noise and slept a lot. No new pips either and I candled when we got home and didn't see any signs of life......

Gotta go get this crew out the door! I will be at the sale with my 3 girls, ages 14, 10 & 8. The 14 & 10 yr old will have their 4-H jackets on. I'll probably have a purple fleece jacket on and a pony tail. Hope to see some of you there!

I wouldnt mind at all if she turns out to be a CM/EEgg'er! Can't wait until she is older and I can find out what she is!

There is alot of people (civilians !

) that cannot tell the difference between the two breeds.
Actually most people, even people who have chickens, do not know what a CM is, or a BCM either.
Putting the birds side-by-side you can see the difference.
My 2 week old CM chicks are young enough where they still have alot of fluff, but alot of feathers as well if you want I can go out and try to catch one to photo it for you ~
Having a CMXEE would be awesome, don't you think ?
I would get some more if there is more and you have a way out there, it is a long drive, used to live in Fairwood, never knew chickens were allowed, but they would do well out on the golf course !!

I would go get more. But I just brought 6 new babies home today... I made the mistake of going into the chick area at Cenex in Poulsbo... Well, I promised my younger brother that I would get him a Polish last year... So I bought two...

Then I went around the back side of the cages, and saw what looked like frizzle babies! I asked what they were, and the worker said they were frizzles. Then proceded to tell me they were a special order from 3 weeks ago!!! Then offered them all to me for $1 a piece!

They are so cute, and are in quarantine.

My husband says there is something wrong with me!

Thats ok with me!

The Polish are whites, and oh my god!!! How cute are their pointy little crests!

And the frizzles are buff with some black around the wings.
