Is anyone near the Tacoma area currently raising silkies? I just candled my eggs this morning. I have 7 Serama eggs and 9 silkie eggs developing. Of my silkies, the white one was a dud. was kind of hoping we'd get a white silkie in the bunch.

Here's my Buff Gander...the goose is in the coop and trying to set (I pull the eggs twice a day)...but she's being stubborn. I tried to get her to foster the Sebbies that hatched on Saturday but she wouldn't.

Here are a few pics of our "flock"...lol! They are two weeks old today. I converted Jakes dog crate into a temporary brooder until I can build a larger one...





I elevated the feeders a couple of inches to see if they would stay a little cleaner...especially the waterer...hope it works!

That looks pretty similar to the setup we had when we first brought our chicks home. Worked out very well! Good luck on keeping the waterers clean....I'm constantly scooping out shavings, and mine is elevated also.

So my sister and her roommate were fighting (like most roommates do) and her roommate agreed to move out. She moved out today and left my sister a parting gift--she peed on my sister's BED! Who does that? Especially someone with a psychology degree that needs a job?!? My sister called the cops...not sure what they'll do but my sister is going to take her to small claims court to get her to buy a new mattress for her (my sister's mattress is less than 7 months old!)

Sound like the roommate needs to be seen. That is just sick
