Girls 1st Day in their run!

The problem with King County is that Seattle is in it. We lived in Duvall (part of King County) for 8 yrs, before buying land in unincorporated Snohomish County and building our house here.

City laws/ordinances, etc, made for Seattle, don't work for the rest of the county, especially rural areas. At one time, there was a strong push to make a new county, that had most of King County's outlying rural area's in it. Wish that had gone thru.....anyway, that's all I'll say about that. Much happier up here in Snohomish County!

At lot of the meetings for the new county were at my in-laws house. need I say more

Hey guys I just wanted to stop in... I am almost 200 post behind... sry... Anyway all 3 of my turkey chicks died... I sat with them over night and pecked my finger in water n food and moved two broilers in there and straw feed them every half an hr and still no luck... *sighs* oh well maybe next time. My EE pullet who was attacked seems no worst for ware she is doing good. I am busy putting new hardwoods in my whole house.. All thats left is my kitchen and my bedroom boy and I sore and tired. I hope all is well...

I am so sorry about your poults!! dang it! Wow! you are talented!! LOL I would LOVE hardwood in my house, but, Terry doesn't like them! Anyway, good to hear from you and don't work too hard!

My hubby and my youngest have really bad allergies an with dogs, cats and chickens the carpet just holds to much dander. no matter how many times I vacuumed it was always dirty. So I figure this will be better. I will have to sweep 50 times a day but at least it wont get trapped in the carpet. We are also planning on selling within the next year so its better for resale and the carpet was NASTY from the ppl who lived here before we moved in

So I have read alot of the pasted post I missed... I have seen a bunch of you are posting about composting. I have to say I have never composted before... Thought about it but never got around to it... Can anyone tell me how long it takes straw n chicken poo to break down and what is the smell factor if any? I have had chickens over a year I should probably get on the ball with composting for my garden
