Hi there!
I just got back from visiting my sister in Boston late last night. I have been trying to keep up a little on this very talkative thread, but I just didn't have the time.
So I am going to wish SF a Happy Birthday,
All mothers a BIG Happy Mothers Day!

I had a wonderful time playing with my 5 yr old niece and my 2 yr old nephew.
I am Auntie Kim to the oldest and Ah-me-me to the youngest. SOOOO cute!

I am getting excited for my hatch of silkies!

10 days left. I am hoping for a good hatch from shipped eggs.

I need to talk to Tamara to see if we are candling them tonight or if she did it yesterday.

My husband went and got me a Fuschia tree! I saw it this morning!
I have always wanted one but they are usually so expensive.
I always get a hanging basket, but I can't move it out of the direct sunlight very well and it always gets burned by mid summer.
This one can be moved anywhere. Love it! And the hummingbirds it brings!

Gotta go check on my girls, I missed them!
But I am hearing that my husband actually spoiled them a little rotten while I was gone. Yay for DH!

Have a wonderful Saturday! Enjoy the nice weather!

Well, FlyRobin should be here soon to collect her Vulture.
Vulture is a replacement pullet for the one I gave her before which was an Ameraucana instead of an OE....................at least they were both girls

Also turns out Mom never told anyone we were having lasagna at her place on Sunday...

It was great to see CL and DH again, and visit their place. Jack the dog is even handsomer in the fur, and her birds are magnificent. Saw one of the broody mamas with the now much larger babies. The Buckeye cockerel snatched my ice cream cone. Gary tried to get me to take more chickens but I resisted.

Miss Vulture is an Olive Egger that looks like a Cuckoo Marans with a pea comb, and has a red face. I will have to come up with a new name for her.

Thanks CL Im missing my Mama the 19th of April I lost her than the 7th of May would have been her birthday. I thought I got by with out getting to upset. But NO now its Mothers day and all I can do it think about her and how much I miss her.. She was a great lady!

I am just tickled. My husband has been pretty grouchy about the chickens. He did not think we needed them, well today our son was sitting in the pen outside with them, and my husband looked out and our son who is ODD, ADHD, and all over the Autism Spectrum was singing softy to the chicks. He was SOLD! He said NOW he is okay with the chickens.. lol I was just tickled that my son was being so soft and sweet and gentle with our almost 5 week old EE's.

That is just wonderful! It must be so moving to see your son make a connection with the chicks.

Got DD off to Florence this morning.

I also had some sad news today - soon after I arrived home from Sea-Tac my gf called hysterical saying "Simon killed my chicks"!

My Silkie and Serama eggs are in lockdown.

Hoping for a good hatch

Here's my last pic of Lily before the shuttle arrived to take her across the world from me -

That is a lovely photo of the lovely Lily! You have an amazing daughter. What a wonderful opportunity for her, and glad your parents will get to see her soon.

So sorry to hear about the chicks...that is awful.
Best wishes for a great hatch!

Good Morning all - it looks like another beautiful day here! Makes me feel optimistic!

Happy Birthday to Julia!

Thanks everyone for your comments about DD Lily heading to Florence. I'm still waiting to hear from her that she's arrived. She did call from a pay phone in Paris last night to say the plane was late and they didn't make their connecting flight to Florence so they had another 2 hour wait. I'm sure she's in Italy by now, but unless she gets on Facebook she can't let me know. Her phone isn't set up for global communication and she'll be getting another phone tomorrow from the school to use for the next 2 months with Chef's phone # and all of her classmates #'s already programmed.

She's probably out enjoying the city and having a wonderful cup of cappucino...

I'm sitting on my hands waiting for the Seramas and Silkies to hatch. They're due Monday.

I think DH and I are going to work on strengthening our fence today. The neighbors 3 dogs have really done a job on it, jumping on it all the time. We need to put in some 6 ft. t posts, add wire to the top and wire at the bottom to prevent them from digging under. My girls are going stir crazy since they've been confined to the run and I'd like them to get some good sunshine at least during the hours I'm home to supervise. I don't think I will ever feel secure enough to let them free range in the backyard when I'm not home anymore though. I don't trust any fence with those hoodlum canines and curious 5 year old girl constantly hanging off of the fence. Yesterday DH and I caught her hitting the Doberman with a large rubber toy and throwing him off the ledge where the fence line is. I told her to stop it immediately - she replied that she was trying to get him to stop barking at us, (which he was), and finally the guy who owns the Dobie came out, brought the dog inside and I heard him saying "Yes, I did see you hit Nigel." I know he came out because he heard us. It's a shame - they're not bad dogs, she's just a little girl, but they all need a LOT more supervision than they're getting.

DH invited me out to the casino this evening - he and one of his buddies want to go listen to music at Muckleshoots. I'd rather not, but he's trying to be thoughtful so... I'm sure it will be entertaining!
Happy Sunshine!

A bit of advice. If your dog happens to be a good hunter and bring in a mole. DO NOT leave the dog and said mole in the front yard while ya go in for dinner. And if by chance ya do and the mole goes to ground. No matter how fast you turn it or how hard you push A sewer snake will not screw into the mole. It will just cause the mole to kick dirt up in yer face. Plan B worked very well. 150 grains of lead injected from a 38 !!! Game over mister mole I WIN ! ! !

LOL!
