When I click on the May Egg Swap link in your siggy - I get sent to an error page.

I copied and pasted someone elses because I don't know how to do one my self. It worked for a couple of days then it stopped. The May egg swap is closed the June one will start June 1st. Its my first swap. And my hen went broody on me when I needed one more egg. Pollyanna needs to get busy. She's the only silkie still laying. But she's not a very reliable layer.

Wow. I was out in the middle of nowhere for the weekend (Indian Valley, ID). I come home and check this board and there are quite a few pages upon pages to read through. This was a rush to Idaho for just the weekend so hubby could spend precious time with his cousin Rick. Long story short, Rick and hubby are like brothers to each other. Rick in past few years has had cancer 3 seperate times and made it through. Last year, hubby got phone call to tell him that Rick was given 6 months and Hospice is now involved. It has been a year now since that phone call. Last week hubby's aunt called to tell him Rick was starting to do worse and that we needed to get over there for time.

Friday, we dropped my kids off at dad's house and then drove the over 5 hours to get there. Got up Saturday and went and visited with Rick until he was tired then we went off for the day with hubby's aunt and uncle and their friends. 70 miles later on a 4 wheeler and some of the most awesome sites possible we were back at Aunt and Uncle's house.... Sleep, get up go see Rick this morning then get in car to be on time to pick up my kiddos.

Yup that ride was definately awe inspiring. As hubby and I both said at same time: This is God's Country.

Hubby's stepson was taking care of the animals for the weekend and our landlady was helping him. I came home expecting some losses. But of all my birds and other animals here I lost only 1 of my speckled sussex chicks. She managed to get out of the pen 2 times and not sure what happened but it appears she died of fright. No teeth marks on her or blood or anything. It was definately a weekend to make a person think and realize the importance of family.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's on here.

Well tomorrow will mark a significant date for DW and I. I guess that means I am gonna have take a walk out in the field to see if I can find any tansy and or lupine so I can pick her a bouquet.
Hard to believe how fast 20 years goes by.

Just ordered Ashley English's "Keeping Chickens" and can't wait for it to get here! I also ordered a gallon of ACV. I'm using it for the chickens and LOVE it! My plan? Chicken keeping library full of every book I can find on chickens. I'd also love to collect egg scales

Don't count on it! I have broken their dinner plates so many times and then DW just gets out more dishes ! ! ! I just can't seem to convince them that life must be better at their fathers house and they should go live there.
You must be doing something right if they don't want to leave. You know the saying "Home is where the heart is..."

You sound alright to me!
