To the Washington Thread. I enjoyed meeting you on Wednesday afternoon. I was over in Port Orchard picking up 7 Finches hybrids. I just love have new people here on the this thread.

You need bird net on their run, too !
My father in law builds his pheasant runs by 8 X 12 sections, covered with 1/4" heavy poultry neeting.
He screws these together by bolt and wingnuts.
He connects the sections and dissasemble the run and set it up elsewhere, or make 3 instead of 1 big run.
He puts bird net over the top as pheasants can spook easily and fly up and can break their necks on hard wire, the bird netting is more forgiving.
I net all my runs but the big girl run.

Again ?
How many times is this guy going to get lost and give you a break ?
Didn't you say he was going to give you some free feed the first time he got lost ?
Where in the world is he coming from ?????

You must be so disapointed !

Well, when he said next week, does that mean Monday ???
Best Wishes for you !

He's coming from Oregon. He advertised on Craig's list, and makes a run when he's got several to deliver in this area. I don't know what address he entered into his blackberry, but it took him south of Tacoma instead of north Seattle. He says he going to give it to us at cost. We'll let him give us a discount, but we will give him something for his time. Last time he couldn't make it, he said he'd throw in a built in feeder. I certainly hope he means Monday. I worry about my smallest pullet. The others have her at the bottom of the pecking order. When they move here, I'll be able to keep an eye on her, and make sure she's getting enough to eat. She'll be the same size as them eventually. She's a few weeks younger.

I actually bought enough to do both my coop and my run since I have a few escapees...lol. The flight pen/ Aviary, whatever one wishes to call it will be completed this week!!! Yay! LOl

Oh, I got a really good flashlight to candle the other day... 180 lumens! Guess what, my BF took it!

BUT he says he will buy me a candler to replace it, anyone know if any of the Brisnea ones are any good? Or have any suggestions? Luckily he is allowing me to "borrow" it until my new candler arrives..lol

Have a nice day everyone!!

I just use one of the keychain LED flashlights from the feed store. I'll show it to you Saturday if you want.

Cool! Think it will see through Marans eggs? That was my issue and why I bought that darn thing lol He loved it! It is SO bright that even if you shine it on your hand and look at it it will still be blinding lol.

He says Friday afternoon. I hope he shows this time, or I'm going to have to order some plans, and talk to my ex husband about using his saws.
