You 2 crack me up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use REAL insulation sandwiched between 2 walls of OSB on all my coops.

Oh see ? There is Swarms !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year there were none until late summer/fall.............so let's all hope the bees do well this year !!!!!!!!!!!
I sure hope so.
I bought 2 5-frame nucs a few weeks ago from another local bee keeper. He said that they came from hives that were ready to split. Since I transferred them to the big hives, they have been busy filling up the supers with comb, brood and honey.
I hope this is a good year for the bees. They seem to be doing quite well so far.

And have 5 sphinx eggs ready to pop open tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saved that many more when you did not show up to get sphinx......for another week............I suppose I owe ya 1 baby ??????????

Nah, I don't need a baby Vulture. Besides, Einstein will try to get me to take more birds, as he always does.

Great responses about ventilation everyone - thank you! Your input has been passed along to my friend so that she and her DD and friends building their coop can make an informed choice. You guys are awesome.

Man! I wanted broody hens and none of them would oblige. You don't neccessarily want any and two of yours go broody one after another! Oh well, I have Tamara's Hova Bator Genesis! Works like a charm!
Kim my dear. It doesn't matter if I give out the day

I'll even give out the time they open 8"00am

Remember I have inside info, and the insulation will be GONE by the time they open

And the reason you DON'T have broody hens is because you DON'T know how to pick out chickens
tongue2.gif
You always pick out the weird breeds

We're home Sunday. We can meet you at the ferry if it's either before or after the little one's afternoon nap time. I'll hold off washing the eggs to save 'em for you :) I know Bob's doing his job since two hens just hatched three babies and the preschool hatched 6 eggs in the incubator.

Are those ducks in your profile pic? I'm seeking honest opinions on keeping ducks. My husband is convinced they're mean and messy. I'd kinda like some duck eggs, but I don't want mean and messy. They'd have to be enclosed like the chickens, too.
PM coming your way!!!!
