After having read people's posts about Coastal Farm Supply in Auburn, I went and think I have a new favorite place!

We could have a meeting there, shop for our chickens, and then go to someplace in the Supermall for a bite to eat or something.

Hey, I LOVE that idea. It won't cost me much in gas.

I had my 16 yr. old GSD Kala put to sleep.

I'm so sorry. You spent 16 years with her - of course it is difficult.

When we had to put our 15-year-old French Brittany down, my DH was so devastated he almost considered surgery. I had to be the one to tell him, no - he's 15, and French Brittany's are not supposed to live that long. He had a great life and heavy bleeding out the nose is not a good sign. He knew he had to do it, but it was a very difficult decision for him to make. I scrubbed out the kennel before he got back because I knew there was no way he could face that.

It will take you time to go through the emotions. The process will bring you peace in time.

and today I did the hardest thing of my old life! I had my 16 yr. old GSD Kala put to sleep. she had arthritis so bad she had trouble getting up and down and walking. and her side vision was almost completely gone. I could write a book on what a great dog she was and all the fun we had. but I know some of you have lost Great dogs too in the last couple of years, and you know what I'm talking about and the hurt I'm feeling right now

. I know time will heal things. even though my dog was a big part of our family especially to me , I know she was just a dog and Not Human!

I know several of you have lost parents recently and Dave lost a very young daughter ! I don't know how you guys can go on with that kind of hurt!
I admire you people!

I want to thank Kim !!! she went with me to the vet and even helped me bury Kala what a Sweetheart she is

Im so sorry.

Im one who lost both a parent and a few good old dogs, and our first goats. You know you just go on and it doesnt hurt so bad each day. But than you have that day and for no reason you just feel it all over again. It stinks...

RIP Kala,

So sorry for your loss Ron. Dogs are family members and they add so much to our lives. Thank goodness that Kim went with you. It would be so hard to face it alone.

I always forget that this beautiful coop and setting is yours - lucky girl!  I just love it!

Thanks, SadieSue!  Can we talk you into coming up for the Northend meetup?
It would be great to see you again, Dana!

Oh thank you - I would really like to see you and Ruth and all the northenders too, but this week is out for me I'm afraid. My "stage husband" Elliot is directing the first show of the season at Tacoma Little Theater and though I'm not suitable for any of the roles, he was nice enough to ask me to read with all the actors auditioning and help out with 3 days of auditions and callbacks. So I'm meeting with him this week to pick up the script and plan a bit.

I will certainly keep the thought in mind for the future - that would be fun!

She was such a beautiful, good girl.

Here are some pictures of Kala and Ron that I scanned not too long ago.
